FROM THE DESIGN COUNTER SERIES

This grouping of six pastel florals may be intimate in scale — each finishing at approximately 8 x 10 — but together, they can create a beautifully unified visual statement. The collection almost reads as a curated study in color atmosphere and softness.

For this presentation, each pastel was individually color-balanced with coordinated archival matting selection designed to extend the pallet of the artwork itself. The colors allow every flower to maintain its own personal personality while still functioning as part of a cohesive collection.

We chose to frame it in a warm, walnut tuned, wood moulding that grounded the collection naturally and quietly, while the
tonal matting creates depth and subtle transitions without overpowering the pastel.

Framing Specs
*warm walnut to wood moulding
* coordinated archive matting to match each pastel
* conservation, mounting methods and UV protection
* tonal layering

One of the most beautiful aspects of collections like this one is a versatility. can live together as a complete statement, in pairs integrated into a larger salon style installation. — creating moments of color and intimacy with a space.

FROM THE DESIGN COUNTER SERIES

There’s something incredibly special about framing a portrait like this — because it’s never just about the artwork. It’s about who we are.

This piece came in as a beautifully, detailed portrait of Scout — full of warmth , personality, and quiet strength. The goal wasn’t to compete with the artwork — but to support it.

We chose a rich, warm brown mat to echo the tones and Scout’s coat, paired with a soft inner accent that gently draws your eye in word. The chosen frame moulding carries a classic profile with subtle depth, giving the piece presence without overpowering it

From my side of the table, it’s always about balance — letting the artwork breathe a while still giving it a sense of home.

Because pieces like this aren’t just decor… they’re part of the family.

Framing Specs
Bainbridge matting, warm brown with neutral in accent
Moulding is from Furst Bros. The is a non-reflective UV protective conservation glass.

FROM THE DESIGN COUNTER SERIES

This piece takes me back. We had the opportunity to frame the work of Myron Barnstone during an exhibition in 2018 — one that has stayed with me for its energy and movement. The exhibition was held at my former gallery at 124 South Carroll St, let by Myron‘s daughter Catherine Szafran. Over the course of that year we had the privilege of framing a large portion of his collection. It was a deeply collaborative experience — one that allows us to engage with the work in a meaningful and lasting way. Seeing his work again today feels like a full circle moment. There’s something incredibly special about experiencing an artist‘s legacy carried forward with such care and attention. This particular piece is alive with movement — layered, expressive and constantly shifting, depending on how you engage it. When framing work like this, the goal is simple: create space for the artwork to speak, while gently guiding how it’s experienced on the wall. A soft neutral mat allows the composition to breathe, while the warmth of the frame echoes the within the painting, grounding all movement without containing it. Some piece of stay with you. This is one of them.

It was a great year Cat!

FROM THE DESIGN COUNTER SERIES

We recently had the pleasure of framing a full solo exhibition for Artist Mariam Memarsadeghi. ’All My Lands’ is currently on view this March at TAG/The Artists Gallery In Frederick, Md.

For this exhibition, we framed approximately 15 mixed media works, each carefully float mounted to allow the texture and layered surfaces of the artwork to remain fully visible. Float mounting is often the best choice for mixed media, as it preserves the natural edges of the work while giving the composition room to breathe within the frame.

Working with artists as they prepare for exhibition is always a special part of what we do here at The ArtistAngle Gallery. Framing an entire body of work, requires balancing consistency across the collection while ensuring that each individual piece is presented at its best.

Congratulations to Mariam Memarsadeghi on a beautiful exhibition. We are honored that the ArtistAngle Gallery and frame shop could help. Prepare these words for presentation.

FROM THE DESIGN COUNTER SERIES
This striking abstract painting by artist Kevin Bain, titled Autumn Branches , has just found a new home through the ArtistAngle Gallery.

At 36“ x 36“ , this was a layered acrylic painting, captured the feeling of autumn weight moving through the branches— vibrant, yellows, blues, and textured layers, build a sense of movement and depth.

The ArtistAngle Gallery float framed this gorgeous painting in a beautiful black float frame , allowing the edges of the canvas to be seen. A very contemporary presentation.

Congratulations to the collector!
We love moments like this at the design counter— when a piece of artwork connects with someone and becomes part of their home.

More artwork and artists coming soon!

The ArtistAngle Gallery and Frame Shop

A beautiful watercolor titled “Youngster” by Rebecca Pearl recently came across our design counter.

Pearl‘s expressive style captured perfectly with loose washes of color and her confident use of line.

Living and working from her farm in Rocky Ridge, Maryland, horses are among the subjects closest to her heart.
