Maryland is a fiber destination the first weekend in May and Yarncentrick gets it all started on Friday, April 30, 2027. This is where our community of indie dyers, artisans, and small creative businesses come together to celebrate craft, color, and connection — and we're already dreaming about what 2027 will bring.

We're excited to welcome Queen City Yarn back to Yarncentrick! Janis is the colorful, cat-loving, yarn-dying enthusiast behind Queen City Yarn.⁠

After spending undergrad and grad school at Savannah College of Art and Design, she found her day job didn’t offer the creative inspiration she craved. Knitting became her outlet, then side hustle, and now full-time venture with a small but mighty team.⁠
⁠
Queen City offers a base for every season, but their two most popular are Coleman (a DK Silk/Linen blend) that's perfect for hot and humid summers as well as for layering pieces in cooler months. And Latta (a sport weight, Non-Superwash Merino/Rambouillet wool) that comes in three put-ups, from petites to super skeins. ⁠

They also have a discord group and a monthly podcast on YouTube called ‘Here’s the Stitch’.⁠

It all started in elementary school. In 1995, Eve and Tori met at a farm-turned-private school and became the best of friends. Today, they own and operate Stone Cellar Dye Works, a dye lab and fiber studio serving up colorful yarn and bad puns. ⁠

Pulling from their backgrounds in theatre, photography, writing, and textiles, their deep love of storytelling comes through in Stone Cellar Dye Works’ bold, thematic yarn collections and imaginative displays.⁠
