Northern Lights Dance Academy NLDA has two locations: Frazee and Park Rapids. We believe that LIFE IS BETTER ON THE DANCE FLOOR. NLDA was founded in 2006.

In 2009 the studio built a new facility in Frazee. In 2013 NLDA opened a new location in Park Rapids. We teach ballet, tap, jazz, modern, hip hop and have competition teams as well. Our instructors love to share their passion for dance. Each of our students hold a special place in our hearts.

Dance gives children opportunities to build friendships, develop confidence, learn teamwork, and discover the value of hard work and dedication. They learn how to encourage one another, overcome challenges, celebrate accomplishments, and be part of something bigger than themselves. 💙💛💙💛

The friendships they form, the confidence they gain, and the life skills they develop are things that extend far beyond the dance studio. These are memories, relationships, and lessons that will stay with them for years to come!

Our first dancer of the month for the 2026-2027 season. Bea has been dancing at NLDA for 7 years. She was nominated by her teacher for her hard work in class and always having a positive attitude.

Bea likes volleyball and basketball. Her favorite food is pizza and she wants to be a dancer when she grows up. We can see that in her future. Her favorite color is also our signature NLDA blue. So proud of you Bea. Keep up the amazing work!! 💙💛💙💛💙💛

This is one of the best parts of a dance studio with all ages. The older ones wrote these messages and hung them up in our studio. They were never asked or prompted to do this. I love that they motivate each other, younger dancers, and also all the staff.

Working with kids teaches you more than you can imagine. It is so rewarding and we could not be more thankful for the role models that are in our dance studios everyday!
