Northern Lights Dance Academy

NLDA has two locations: Frazee and Park Rapids. We believe that LIFE IS BETTER ON THE DANCE FLOOR. NLDA was founded in 2006.

In 2009 the studio built a new facility in Frazee. In 2013 NLDA opened a new location in Park Rapids. We teach ballet, tap, jazz, modern, hip hop and have competition teams as well. Our instructors love to share their passion for dance. Each of our students hold a special place in our hearts.

✨ WELCOME TO THE NLDA FAMILY, MICHELLE! ✨

Please help us give a BIG Northern Lights Dance Academy welcome to Miss Michelle, who is joining our teaching staff for the 2026–2027 season! 💙✨

Michelle has been a part of the NLDA family for many years and graduated from NLDA in 2025. We have loved watching her grow as a dancer, and we are so excited to now have her sharing her passion and talent with our younger dancers! 💫

Michelle is currently attending school to pursue her degree in Ultrasound Technology while continuing her love of dance through teaching.

This season, Michelle will be teaching Monday nights in Park Rapids, working with our Mini classes and leading our Mini Star Competition Team! 🌟

We know she is going to bring so much energy, talent, and fun to the studio, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things she does with our dancers!

We are SO excited to have Miss Alexa back at the studio for another season! 💙 She’ll be teaching in Frazee on Monday and Thursday nights and will also be leading our Frazee Core Team this year!

We can’t wait to see all that she has in store for our dancers! From her creativity and passion to all the fun she brings into the studio, we know it’s going to be an amazing year! ✨

At Northern Lights Dance Academy, we want every dancer to believe that anything is possible. We want them to learn that difficult doesn’t mean impossible—and that with hard work, dedication, patience, and a willingness to keep trying, they can accomplish incredible things.

Dance teaches so much more than steps and choreography. It teaches our dancers to push through challenges, believe in themselves, celebrate progress, and never give up when something doesn’t come easily.

Our greatest hope is that the confidence they build in the studio follows them everywhere they go. ❤️

💃🕺 It’s time for our Mom & Dad Dancers! ❤️

One of the most special parts of our spring recital is watching our dancers take the stage with someone they love! 🥰

Last year, our moms stepped out of their comfort zones and took the stage with their dancers—and they absolutely rocked it! 👏💗

Now it’s time to give the dads their moment! 🎩🕺 We are SO excited to have our dads take the stage with their dancers for our 2027 Spring Recital!

✨ The best part? The Mom/Dad Dancer routine is FREE! Dancers and their parent will learn the routine together and get the chance to perform it on stage at our spring recital.

It’s a fun way to make memories, spend time together, and maybe even show off a few new dance moves! 😉

✨ TEACHER SPOTLIGHT: MISS PAIGE! ✨

We are SO excited to have Miss Paige back with NLDA for another amazing year! 💙✨

On Monday nights in Park Rapids, Paige will be working with our Junior Performance Team, as well as our Fusion and Core Teams. She’ll then head to Frazee on Tuesdays, where she’ll work with our Petite Team and teach our Grade 4–6 Tap and Hip Hop classes! 🩰🔥

Paige brings so much creativity, energy, and passion to our dancers, and we can’t wait to see the incredible choreography she creates this season! We know she has some amazing things in store. 🤩

This week, we’re shining the spotlight on our amazing choreographer, Ki!💫

Ki brings so much creativity, energy, and passion to Northern Lights Dance Academy. This season, she’ll be working with our Junior Performance Competition Teams, Core Teams in Park Rapids, and Elite Team in Frazee! 🔥

She also plays a huge role choreographing and working with our Production Line and Hip Hop Krew Team to bring their routines to life. Her creativity and ability to push dancers to be their best make her such an important part of our NLDA family! 🖤✨

Ki is excited for a brand-new season and can’t wait to take her choreography to the next level, challenge our dancers, and create routines they’ll be proud to perform!
