Join Fraser Parks and Recreation for a spring craft event, with a spot of gardening for those so inclinded, during one of three sessions on Saturday, April 18 here at Fraser City Hall, 33000 Garfield Road, in Council Chambers.

Young artists can paint their very own terra cotta flower pot using provided paints and brushes. Once finished, aspiring gardeners can plant some provided seeds (or not), but everyone will take home their painted pot!

This hands-on activity is a great way to spend an April Saturday with other budding artists and gardeners as we prepare for planting season.

Parents are not required to sign up for a session for their child to participate, but all children must be registered for their respective session individually.

There are three (3) sessions available, and each has a total of 15 spots.

Session I: 11-11:45 AM

Session II: 12-12:45 PM

Session III: 1-1:45 PM

To register, please visit: https://www.frasercitymi.gov/Activities/Activity/Detail/Spring-2026-Paint-and-Plant-16

Please note: If the session which you want to attend is full, please join the waitlist. If a registered participant cancels, someone on the waitlist will be added to the session for which they were waitlisted.

Easter is early this year - April 5, which is the first Sunday of the month - so why not start prepping your decorations proactively at the Baumgartner House Museum's Easter Decor and Jewelry sale on Sunday, March 1 from 1-4 PM?

Located conveniently on the corners of Kelly and Masonic at 18577 Masonic, this historic house museum is our community's (sometimes hidden) gem.

Come for the first sale of 2026, then stop in the museum, which is always FREE to visitors, to see what new things were discovered between late 2025 and early 2026. The museum's caretakers have been exploring the home's basement, unearthing new finds and categorizing items for current and future display. Just like the sale, something new-to-you can always be found in this historic spot on the border of Roseville and Fraser!

WATER MAIN BREAK AND LANE CLOSURE:

Please be advised that Fraser Department of Public Works (DPW) is repairing a water main break on Hayes Road, north of French Creek and south of 15 Mile Road.

Please use caution when traveling northbound on Hayes Road, as crews will be blocking off a lane so DPW workers can properly move equipment in and out of the work zone.

Traffic will be directed east onto French Creek, where drivers can detour north onto Hidden Pine Drive to access to 15 Mile Road.

Some of the residents in the immediate area will have their water shut off during the repair. These residents have been personally notified by DPW that their water is being shut off.

In the surrounding area, disturbances in the water main may temporarily cause minerals/sediments to appear in the water. This is no cause for serious concern. The water is still safe to use. We advise residents that if they experience any brown or “rusty” water, to run cold water in the bathtub or utility sink until the coloration subsides. Typically, the water should clear up in about 10-15 minutes.

Fraser DPW understands and empathizes with the inconvenience this water main break may cause to our residents. If any further developments arise, we will alert residents and businesses as soon as possible.

As this winter continues to be one of our state's snowiest in the last few years, this reminder from the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) not only helps us all of stay safe, it outlines the best way to avoid receiving a citation for improper snow removal.

It's also helpful to remind those with sidewalks/walkways that these need to be shoveled within 24 hours of the end of the snowfall.

If possible, please check on your neighbors, especially if they are elderly, disabled, and/or have small children in the home. Fraser has always been known as a small but mighty community, and these snowy days offer an opportunity to let that neighborly light shine!
