The Washington Parish Free Fair begins with a parade highlighting our parish's creativity and talent. This year’s theme is “Stars, Stripes & Washington Parish Nights.” The parade is a fun and family-friendly way to start the largest free fair in the United States. The 2026 parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct 21st, 2026. Floats will be staged at Franklinton High School. All marching groups will stage at the Franklinton Farmer’s Market area and be directed to the parade in progress by a parade official. The parade will follow the prescribed route through town and end at the Washington Parish Fair Grounds.

Take a step back in time as you walk through the gates of Mile Branch Settlement. You will have the chance to explore the cabins, watch a blacksmith in action, and see what school life was like, and many other experiences. Be sure to stop at the General Store for a slice of cheese and cup of lemonade to enjoy while wandering around the settlement.

Yesterday at the April meeting, we were honored to present the awards we won at the Louisiana Association of Fairs and Festivals.

🏆 Best Cap Award (not pictured)

🏆 LAFF Poster Contest 3rd Place - Sadie Grace Fowler - Franklinton Primary School

🏆 LAFF Poster Contest 1st Place - Chad Alsobrooks - Pine Junior/High School

We would like to congratulate the poster winners and also thank all of the hard working volunteers that put in countless hours into making the fair what it is. We wouldn’t be what we are without all of our volunteers and their hard work never goes unnoticed! ❤️💛💚
