THE SUM

You're getting older
your hair now turning gray

Surpassing middle-age

Now in your sixties
entering the final stage

The road ahead much shorter
than the road behind

It's a simple fact
that you can't deny

Each day is a blessing
and should be treated as divine

Childhood seems lightyears ago

Memories passing by
as they succumb to time

Life is both a paradox
and a paradigm

Are we merely the sum of
the lives that we've led

The people we've met along the way
acquaintances.... few true friends

Were our lives filled with
happiness or regrets

Were we earnest

Did we give it our all
and do our best

What kind of legacy
have we left

How shall we be remembered
long after we're gone

Did we stand tall
or take a great fall

Will our essence fill the halls
like a painting on the wall

Or shall we just be
a fading memory after all

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
I would like to kiss you,
and gently caress your face.

Run my fingers through your hair.

Look into your eyes, and see
undisclosed beauty you rarely share.

Dance with you in the rain.
Have conversations that never end.

You are beautiful beyond compare.

Captivated by your essence,
I breathe in like the air.

With you, my life I'm willing to share.

Hold you close and wipe away your tears,
whisper sweet nothings into your ears.

Take away your doubts and all of your fears.
Be the one that you hold dear

As he tasted her he realized
he had been starving

She was like cotton candy
melting upon his tongue

Each and every drop
as sweet as honey

Just like
the very first one.

In the ever revolving
Kaleidoscope of time

An endless array of hues
and brilliant colors you will find.

Each of them unique and one of a kind
separated by intersecting lines.

Life is both
a paradox and a paradigm.

An ocean of tears
have been cried

Written words
Oblique to mankind

Pain, suffering, and darkness
of every kind.

Insurmountable and sublime

Peace, Love, Charity,
the Philanthropy of mankind.

All the kindness you find
blessings are divine

Read between the lines

The mediocrity of mortality
All that is seen and unseen

Life taken for granted
like the air that we breathe

We are all on borrowed time

We have connected in a very rare and unique way

You make me feel complete
you make me feel whole

This I already know

I promise to love
and respect you

With all my heart and soul

Hand in hand we shall grow
Never again to be alone

Experiencing a love that we've never known

Unconditional
and beyond reproach

Until we both grow old and the Lord brings home

She had silken hair.
In the sunlight it shone,
Chocolate brown eyes
with hints of copper that glowed.

He look into them and saw
all that goes untold.
Her brokenness and
the beautiful aura of her soul.

She had a natural beauty
that was all her own.
Her lips perfectly formed,
high cheekbones and the cutest little nose.

He was not a wealthy man,
nor did he have, a mansion made of stone. Together, they would walk hand in hand,
never to be alone.

He would love, respect, and care for her,
in ways she had never known.
Living a simple life they would have
the happiest of homes.

She walked softly with
eloquence and grace.

Her chestnut brown hair
gently brushed across her face.

Hypnotic eyes that are as beautiful and eternal
as the stars that flicker in space.

A dazzling smile and
the cutest dimples ever placed

She has a beauty that
trancends both time and space.

The epitome of a lady
she carried herself with eloquence and Grace

I would like to marry you
and make you my wife.

So that we can be together
for the rest of our lives.

Regardless of the trials or tribulations,
together we can handle the strife.

So let us walk this walk together,
by each other's side, as Husband and Wife.

With this ring
I pledge you my life
