Some days the “why” behind painting isn’t a stencil design or a die set idea — it’s just… paint. 🍐

These pears are from this month’s lesson in ‘s Garden Studio membership, and I didn’t sit down to make anything usable. No client work, no product line, no “how does this become content.” Just me, a brush, and permission to not be productive with it.

I think as makers we can put a lot of pressure on every hour we spend creating — like it only counts if it leads somewhere. But some of the best things happen when you paint just to paint, or craft just to craft. This was an hour of quiet, a messy palette, and zero expectations. That’s the whole point.

If you’re a watercolor person (or want to be), Alex’s Garden Studio is such a gentle, joyful place to practice. No pressure to “get good” — just show up and paint.
