Dear Rodeo Family,
We need to stop a rumor. Let me help you with the whole story...
Near mid-season of 2025, someone walked off with two of our Muley Horns. Those are the horns that are strapped onto the heads of the calves for chute do***ng. Sometime between our March and April Rodeo, our roping barrier was taken from our box in the crow's nest. Whoever took it knew exactly where it was and left everything else that was with it. Yes, it was in a locked area.
Present Day
A young lady had two Muley horns for sale on Facebook. SHE DID NOT STEAL OUR MULEY HORNS. They belonged to her brother. Sometimes "evidence" isn't what we think it is. Then there was a rumor that this same person had a barrier for sale. SHE DID NOT. Why that got added to the rumor is anyone's guess. We did not accuse her of stealing anything. Circumstantial evidence is just that. She didn't know anything about ours being stolen. I received many phone calls and messages about this. It was all a big coincidence. I spoke to her. All is good. I understand that it "looked" suspicious, but it is a good reminder to ALL of us that things aren't always what we perceive them to be. I feel terrible for her. You've heard it from me. Were the muley horns and barrier taken? Yes. Did she take them? No. She did not. That said, either Troy or I will buy those muley horns because we need them!

Now, let's move on. I purchased a new barrier this week, so we will have one at the June rodeo. This is a rodeo association that tries hard to allow kids and adults to have a good environment, learn, and have fun. Basically, when you take stuff from the association, you are taking it from everyone who participates. We apologize that we didn't have a barrier at the May rodeo.

Happy Tuesday! We had a great time with you all at the May rodeo!
We do have a few updates and reminders. Please take a moment to read the entire post! If you have questions, feel free to reach out!

1) June will be the last rodeo that we will offer slack for our 2026 season. We tried. It is just not financially viable for the association. With numbers down, we need to make sure we are able to provide all of those awards at the end of the season! We've broken it down before, but Slack costs the organization around $1,000 per rodeo. We started Slack when we had around 300 competitors, to help us get done before midnight on Saturday's. This year, we've only had around 25 at each Slack. Hopefully, with no rodeo in July, this will give everyone some time to prepare for our August perf! We truly tried to make it work, but it just isn't right now. If numbers pick up, we will consider adding it back.

2) If you received your raffle tickets in February, March, or April, they are due in June. Please refer to the rulebook and the sheet that was in your membership packet. If you turn them in in August, there is a late fee.
If you received your raffle tickets in May or get them in June, they are due at the August rodeo. No tickets will be accepted after the August rodeo.

3) Remember that your FIRST volunteer hours do need to be completed by the end of the June rodeo. The SECOND volunteer hours are due by the Oct. rodeo.

4) Remember to CHECK THE RULEBOOK for finals qualifications information.

5) The June rodeo will offer a Trail Class for ages PW-Adult. You do need to pre-register. The trail class will be held OUTSIDE the arena. The event will be open for a block of time on Saturday. You compete as your other event times allow. The WINNER of each division will receive the payout. This is a fundraiser for our scholarship fund. The event will be a $20 flat rate. We will post course details and how it all works in the next few weeks.

6) Starting at the June rodeo, ALL age appropriete events will be open to our adult division. You may qualify for a Championship buckle if the finals criteria are met. (Rulebook). The adult rules for each event will be the SAME as those for the Senior division.
