I can't believe we are already at our October Rodeo! Just a few reminders!

CONTESTANTS — TIME TO GET YOUR SPOOKY ON! 👻🤠 Dress up yourself, your horse, or BOTH! Want to be a cowboy vampire? A cowgirl witch? A skeleton on a horse? A rodeo pumpkin? Go for it!
We’ll have a COSTUME PARADE during Grand Entry, so come ready to show off your Halloween creativity!
AND YES… THERE WILL BE AWARDS! 🏆
We’ll choose the BEST COSTUME in EACH AGE DIVISION — INCLUDING THE ADULTS!

CONTESTANTS! You may wear your costumes in the arena to compete. HOWEVER, costumes must be safe for the rider and the horse; contestants must wear boots.

👀 ADULTS, THIS IS YOUR WARNING…
You can’t spend all day telling the kids to have fun and then sit there looking all boring! 😂 Decorate that vehicle. Dress up. Dress up your horse. Wear something ridiculous. Have some fun with your kids!

*Theme: Tough Enough to Wear Black (Breast Cancer Awareness)
**Verse: 2 Peter 3:9 - The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

WE NEED YOUR INPUT!
Friday evening at Finals, we usually like to do a few fun things for the kids—and hopefully get the adults involved too! We’ve had several suggestions already, but we want to hear YOUR thoughts and ideas before we decide what Friday night will look like.
⚠️ PLEASE DO NOT COMMENT UNLESS YOU WILL BE AT FINALS ON FRIDAY EVENING. We want to hear from the people who will actually be there and able to participate!
Here are some ideas that have been suggested:
🏁 Triathlon Race
On Segways or on foot!
• Rope the sled steer
• Run the barrels
• Tie the goat
🤠 Cowboy Race
One person on horseback and one person on foot. The rider runs down, picks up their teammate from the top of a barrel, and they race back together!
🛞 Wheelbarrow Barrel Race
One person pushes… the other person rides!
🏑 Arena Polo
Teams, a big ball, and polo “sticks.” Let the chaos begin!
🎬 Big-Screen Movie
Kick back, relax, and watch a movie together.
🚩 Capture the Flag
Kids, adults, or teams made up of both!
🎮 Just Free Time to Play
Let everyone choose what they want to do and enjoy some time together.
🔥 S’mores Around the Campfire
Because who doesn’t love s’mores?!

🎃🤠 WRANGLE UP SOME TREATS!
Things are about to get a little spooky, a little silly, and a whole lot of fun at our October Rodeo!

PARENTS — WE NEED SOME BOO MOBILES! 🎃
Turn your vehicle into a BOO MOBILE and help us pass out treats to our contestants! Decorate your vehicle, slap a Halloween sign on it, or just park yourself there with a bucket of goodies.

🍬 What should you bring?
Candy, small prizes, books, toys, or anything else that will make a rodeo kid say, “OH YEAH!”
Treats should be available for contestants between 12:00 NOON and 2:00 PM. They’ll be riding, running, roping, and racing all day — so give them a chance to come round up a few treats!

A big shout-out to everyone who joined us for the September rodeo! The weather was perfect; the contestants were on fire, and the foam party was such fun! The food was fun, and so were the drinks! I want to thank those who stepped up last minute and provided food and beverages!

We want to congratulate Adrian and Brookins Nunn on the winning bid in the Scholarship Auction! They won 30 days of horse training with Joe Pratt! Congratulations ladies! He's had a few of your horses in the past and looks forward to another one! Mostly, he looks forward to visiting with you when you bring that critter to him!

RODEO ROYALTY!
If you were not able to pick up a packet for Rodeo Royalty information and still want one, email Breezy at [email protected]. She can email you a packet and all the needed information! Remember, pictures and bios are due by the end of the October rodeo! Feel free to reach out to her if you have any questions!

There is nothing that makes me more angry than a thief. This year, someone got into the crow's nest and stole our roping bag with all of our needed roping supplies. Everything is now locked up. Unfortunately, that isn't enough. At this rodeo, we arrived to find that someone had gotten into a locked room and broken into our locked cabinet and stolen a large bag of zip ties, a cash box (nothing in it except our credit card phone connector), and our Bible Verse Awards. It took some work to get into that locked cabinet. If anyone knows anything about these thefts, please let us know.

We will begin posting some finals information soon, so keep an eye out!
