Last week, 30 members of our SMART Group gathered in Chicago for a few days that reminded us exactly why this group is something special.

We kicked things off with a plant tour of Roscoe Company, a team whose commitment to their people, their operations, and to advancing this industry through knowledge sharing is truly impressive. From there, the group was joined by Dan Lier, who brought the room to life with insights on sales, prospecting, and persistence. Practical messaging and coaching tools that every member could take straight back to their teams.

Best Ideas were shared, critical issues were worked through, and the connections came naturally. Over a happy hour with Chicago deep dish, a group dinner, and collaboration woven into every moment of the meeting, there was no shortage of good conversation.

This group is built on something real. Members don't just attend, they invest in one another's success. That showed up in a big way when we took a moment to celebrate Mark Stedman, a SMART Group member since nearly the very beginning, as he steps into a well-earned retirement. The relationships in that room told the whole story. Congratulations, Mark and thank you, Paul Radley, for a toast that said it perfectly.

The result? A 96% net promoter score following the meeting.

Last week, the SECURE Group gathered in Chicago, IL for our spring meeting - highlighted by a behind-the-scenes tour of The Roscoe Company.

A huge thank you to Jeff DeLazzer, Mark Stedman, Julia Buik, and the entire Roscoe Company team for going above and beyond to host us. The level of detail, effort, and enthusiasm put into the plant tour did not go unnoticed - we’re truly grateful.

Back in the Gold Coast, we had the opportunity to dive into some impactful sessions. Jay Montgomery, Montgomery Companies, led a discussion around team culture, sharing ways to strengthen and evolve it with fresh perspectives. Brian Zamrowski, Pinnacle Textile, also delivered an excellent session on increasing revenue per route - his preparation and insights really stood out.

Beyond the tour and presentations, what continues to set this group apart is the engagement. Meeting after meeting, the open discussions, idea sharing, and willingness to be transparent are what truly bring value and connection to the group.

Last week, the SOAPP Group gathered in Columbus before heading to Wapakoneta for a tour of Miller's Textile Services. Truly a special operation with impressive investments in equipment, RFID technology, and most importantly, their people.

A big thank you to Bo Schellenberg, Andrew Thornbury, and the entire Miller’s team for hosting such a well-organized and insightful tour.

Back in Columbus, the group continued the conversation around RFID, discussing best practices for implementation, the types of data and insights it can provide, and how members can begin applying it within their own operations.

We also heard from Jacco van Riessen, WSP Systems, who shared a presentation on plant optimization, including a case study and practical ideas for quick-turn improvements laundries can implement right away.

Beyond the educational sessions, one of the best parts of the meeting was the opportunity to build relationships, exchange ideas over dinner, and spend Friday morning diving into best ideas and critical issues facing our industry today. The conversations were thoughtful, practical, and a great reminder of the value this group brings to its members.

We wrapped another Women in Laundry Leadership (WILL) virtual meeting today, and it’s incredible to see how much this group has grown in just one year. Founded by Kelly Brookins and Katy Baughman Quinn, WILL has brought together close to 100 women across the industry to connect, learn, and support one another.

From emerging leaders to executives and business owners, this group continues to create space for meaningful conversations, shared experiences, and real professional growth.

CSC is proud to provide a platform for this community and to support the continued advancement of women in the laundry industry.

We’re already looking ahead to our next virtual meeting on July 30. We hope to see you there!
