Franklin Stage Company FSC is a professional Actors Equity, not-for-profit theatre company founded in 1997 in Franklin, NY.

Our mission is to bring audiences and artists together in historic Chapel Hall to create community and celebrate the enduring power of stories. Founded in 1997, the Franklin Stage Company produces professional admission-free classic and new plays. FSC produces plays and also presents emerging and established artists in a variety of performance disciplines. FSC endeavors to produce unexpected int

erpretations, a high level of artistry, and the ability to make the most challenging texts accessible and compelling. We strive to present work that stimulates thought and provokes discussion to illuminate as well as entertain. We believe passionately in the ability of theater to turn a roomful of strangers into a community. The company was founded on the principle that great theater should be accessible to all. Since our first season, we have produced 29 admission-free classical plays and 5 original ones, and presented performances for a cumulative audience of more than 50,000 theatre-goers. Programming at FSC is made possible in part by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.

Get your 30th on! FSC is celebrating our milestone year on May 31, with food, drink, music and friends. We're so thrilled to mark three decades of great theater produced professionally and admission-free to anyone and everyone interested in partaking of and supporting the arts. Not to mention lovingly restoring our beautiful historic home, Chapel Hall. What could be a better mission to support? Small but mighty!
Super grateful for our tiny crew including board member Jos Vulto, generous friend and donor Ken Garno and longtime FSC friend Kristi McKay who came together over 3 chilly days in Chapel Hall to make some HUGE improvements in our electrical system, including removal and replacement of an old copper breaker panel on our 3rd floor (paging Dr. Frankenstein!), and uncovering some awesome historic wallpaper along the way. Next we added a second sub panel in the basement to service our lighting grid with 8 new receptacles. A ton of time on ladders and running many yards of MC cable. Taking care of our historic home is no small task but with this red hot team we’ve got the power! ⚡️

Wake the kids, phone the neighbors— FSC's 30th Anniversary Season announcement is here! This season brings joyous and powerful stories to the stage, and immerses audiences in tales of romance, wit, history, and legacy. We open our season with our 30th Anniversary Fundraiser featuring improvisational musical duet Duo Extempore. Next, we present Shakespeare’s sparkling comedy of love and intrigue, Much Ado About Nothing, followed by a powerful and humor-filled solo story in Hend Ayoub’s HOME? A Palestinian Woman's Search for Life, Liberty and Happiness—then, we bring you movement that fuses athleticism, vulnerability, and razor-sharp craft with Dual Rivet Dance and finally, FSC presents our second world premiere in a captivating story where history collides with a modern woman’s will in The Civilities, a new play by Kyle Bass. This season celebrates 30 years of theater’s vital role as a space for shared experience and collective imagination. COME WORK WITH US! Each year at FSC, interns have the opportunity for creative and collaborative experience, working side by side with professionals. Interns learn skills, make connections, and interact with those working in the industry every day. Working with FSC’s Artistic Director, Stage Manager, and Resident Designer/Technical Director in the day-to-day functioning of the Theater and in production of shows for the summer season.
