Today we honor and celebrate Amy Cowell and her incredible 26 years with FHS Saber Theater.

Mrs. Cowell has been so much more than a choreographer. She has been a director, costume designer, painter, mentor, problem-solver, storyteller, and the person willing to jump in and do whatever was needed to create extraordinary experiences for our students.

For more than two decades, Mrs. Cowell’s passion has shaped countless productions and touched countless lives. She has challenged students to grow, inspired them to dream bigger, mentored them through obstacles, and supported them with unwavering kindness and dedication. Her creativity brought stories to life, but her greatest legacy is the confidence, courage, and love of theater and performing she instilled in so many young people.

While we will miss seeing Mrs. Cowell’s talent and leadership in our productions, her influence will continue to shine through every student, colleague, and audience member she has impacted along the way.

Thank you, Mrs. Cowell, for 26 remarkable years of artistry, heart, and service. Your mark on FHS Theater is immeasurable, and your legacy will never be forgotten. ❤️🎭💃

A huge round of applause to Felix, Taylor, and Abby for their outstanding performance and for earning the Spirit Award! Your energy, passion, and dedication truly shined on stage. 🌟

We’d also like to celebrate the entire Chicago:Teen Edition tech crew for receiving a shout-out for the Outstanding Tech Crew Award. 🎬💡 Behind every great performance is an incredible team making the magic happen, and we couldn’t be prouder of your hard work and creativity.

Saber Theatre is proud to present their first ever showcase. Every scene in this showcase was selected or written by the students performing it. They worked together after school preparing! Admission is free and the show is family friendly. Please arrive to the Saber Center stage at 7 o’clock this Wednesday evening. We hope to see you there!

Feeling incredibly grateful for these students and this amazing community who showed up, supported, and celebrated the magic of live theater.

Theater is magic—but it’s also collaboration, joy, commitment, community, hard work, and a willingness to learn and grow. This cast, crew, and pit poured their hearts into every moment, and it showed.

So proud of the dedication, the risks taken, and the stories told. You did more than put on a show—you created something unforgettable. 🎭
