*NEW ESTY ITEM!* 🌈🐚 *and story time 😉

A long time ago, when we were still “kids” growing up in Kailua, my sister and I had a summer routine where we would go to the beach for a bit then head into Kailua town for some açaí bowls then make a stop at to get materials for jewelry making. Just browsing the inventory would spark our imaginations on what we could create. We’d take our loot home, wallets empty, and spend the afternoon attempting to create the jewelry of our dreams. These were some of my favorite memories growing up and I still get excited browsing bead and jewelry making stores or finding shells on the beach that have jewelry making potential.

I recently tapped back into the jewelry making world, and am excited to add some new bangles to my Etsy shop!

I don’t have much inventory yet (as I try to make a thing or two each night while the kids are asleep 😜) but I hope to slowly grow my stash and share with you all my creations from the heart ❤️💛💚

I currently have two 12kt gold bangles with freshwater pearls and scallop shell accents (size 7 - average adult) up in the shop. Go check it out! (Etsy: KaloArtStudio)

New Humu art print and some exciting Etsy shop news!

Ok y’all! My newest art print of the beloved state fish of Hawai’i (humuhumunukunukuapua’a - yes that’s what it’s called, or the “trigger fish”) brings to you my new Etsy shop facelift! My shop has a new name, logo, and a few new items for sale!

1. I needed a new Etsy shop name that incorporated all the crazy arts and crafts I do, so I’m calling myself a “studio” now! (If you can call any place in my house that my kids can’t bother me a studio) 🤪 Sometimes I paint, sometimes I craft, other times I’m sewing or jewelry making! Thus was born Kalo Studios (I’ll get into the name meaning in a later post)

2. I’m soooo excited to now offer actual physical prints instead of just digital prints! I will continue to add art prints that are eligible for made to order printing to my Etsy shop. Each print will be a professional giclee print on thick fine art paper

Right now only Mr. Humu and my most popular Celestial Whale Shark print is available for print, but I hope to add more soon! (Both are also available digitally for instant download for at home printing)

One of the awesome things about doing commissions is that it challenges me to try new things I’ve never done before! I usually just “free-hand” all my drawings/paintings, so it was an awesome experience drawing Brisket with this 80’s synthwave inspired background! 😎💜🧡💛
