Got lucky with a couple small swells up north last week following the Suttons Bay show. Got my fill of waves before grabbing the camera for the last hour of Tuesday night’s session, the first time I’ve had my camera in the water since last winter 🤦‍♂️. Here’s a smorgasbord of some of my favorites. I hope to continue to throw up “real time” shots as we head into the fall season instead of only the carefully curated work from years past. And it’s always fun to see some actual surfing

Summer of 2023 saw a lot of wildfire smoke in Northern Michigan. I took the opportunity to shoot some unique sunsets such as the one seen in this image. But the current situation is a whole different level. Disconcerting to think events like this could be the new normal.

Don't miss out on this wonderful art experience! The East Grand Rapids Fine Art Fair is in less than a month. From June 5-7, you can come and experience many artists and their artworks. Sean Mclain is one of the artists in attendance! He explores various surface states of the Great Lakes through photography, utilizing ICM techniques and, in more recent work, a water housing. Images are mainly displayed as large-scale metal prints. Make sure you stop at his booth!

After Glow - Blurred Lines Collection

A magical spring longboarding session had to be cut short when the sunset started to take shape. I managed to paddle in and grab my camera just in time to capture what turned out to be one of my favorite images in my Blurred Lines collection.
