New Foxboro Skate Park Fundraiser

We have some exciting news! This project has been approved by the Town of Foxboro and will begin in September 2023. Our Fundraiser raised almost $27,000 and has been donated to the Town of Foxboro. Our funds will be combined with other private donations, state awarded funds ( Thank you Senator Feeney and Jay Barrows). The Town of Foxboro and the Rec dept will also be contributing funds. This project will follow standard guidelines and processes created by the town of Foxboro and will be managed by specific people in the town offices. All funds have been committed directly for this project and will remain in an account that can only be used for the skatepark, up on approval by certain people overseeing the project, contractors, and funds. This is a huge win for us as it has been alot of work over a few years getting here. We said we would get it done and here we are. Carley Nickerson thank you for your persistence and all of your work with the town we would not be here without your efforts. Also thank you to the town offices for putting this together and taking the lead, and putting together a continued upkeep and maintenance program so that it does not fall into despair again.

Note to Donors. The Foxboro Recreation Dept has asked this fundraiser to inform donors of the following. Upon inspection from an outside insurance agency last year the frame of the park was determined to be in solid condition, although some repairs may be needed. When this fund was started we thought the frame of the park was rotted beyond repair. Given this new info we are able to downsize the project and resurface the park rather than demolish the entire park and start from scratch. The Rec dept asked us to reach out to donors and ask if any donors have any disagreement with using the money to renovate the existing park, rather than using it to demolish and re create the park. It looks like the Skatepark will be getting funding in the amount of 50k? We will reach out to senator Feeney to ask if this is a result of our request last year. If anyone has any info on this feel free to share. Let's hope these funds are not used for "upkeep". We all recall the Rec dept and town of Foxboro executives confirming several times that there is no state, local, or federal funding available for this skatepark.

We are always keeping check on our account. Our branch manager at Baycoast Bank confirms that there have been no withdrawals for expenses and only deposits made. All of our efforts and resources are donated.
