The Lore of Pyriel Foxpaw
Fae, cryptid, shapeshifter, Bard-Barian. Well intentioned idiot fueled by good intentions(he means w**e) and questionable ideas(usually after said w**e). Agent of chaos in the best and worst ways.
His adventures often lead to him having to be resurrected, more often than not. The price of being brought back comes in the form of...tails. Since the Dragon Queen has to revive her mischievous foxy-tailed servant so often, the price she demands is the tail he'll no longer be using. Some she adds to her collection, others she has deemed worthy to be sold in her tavern.
A Series of Nat 1's: BEHIND THE FLUFF
Pyriel was a throwaway character. I never had enough time to commit to long campaigns with him, so when I did get to play I used him in the most chaotic ways imaginable. He and I lived every adventure to the max. A Series of Nat 1s reflects his constant fails but best moments.
Pyriel constantly dies for no reason, but other foxes shouldn't have to. That's why we specifically gather the tails and fur pieces that would have otherwise been thrown away and do our best to repurpose them. We give them each a name so that each fox is not forgotten and can join another heroic adventurer on their journey. We want everyone to have a second chance.
Our inventory will never be huge and it will never be the same from one shipment to the next, but each tail is as unique as the name we give it and each is made by hand here at the fox den.
