I stopped playing it safe — and “Chromatic Riot” was born. 🎨

Every piece in my geometric series starts the same way: tape down, shapes masked, possibilities wide open. But this time I pushed myself to go further with color than I ever have.

Magenta. Chartreuse. Teal. Burnt orange. Deep purple. I wanted brighter, bolder, and more unexpected — and when I pulled that tape back, I couldn’t stop smiling.

This is Chromatic Riot — a geometric watercolor built on the tension between structure and pure color joy. I love how it turned out, and I think you will too.

I almost played it safe. I’m so glad I didn’t. 🎨

This is Chromatic Riot — my latest geometric watercolor, and honestly one of my favorite color experiments yet. I’ve been working through a series of bold geometric designs, and with this one I wanted to go further — brighter, bolder, more unexpected combinations than I’d tried before.

Lime green colliding with deep purple. Hot pink anchoring a field of orange. Shapes tumbling across a sky-blue base. Every choice felt a little wild in the moment… and completely right when the tape came off.

There’s something almost jaw-dropping about seeing a painting reveal itself. That’s why I keep making art — and why I’m so happy with how Chromatic Riot turned out.

Desert Spectrum Riot — a geometric watercolor that didn’t ask permission. 🌵🔥

I’ve been deep in this geometric series, and today I wanted something different — more balanced, more alive. I felt the desert calling. So I leaned in.

Triangles. Squares. A full spectrum of color — hot pink, chartreuse, sky blue, teal, burnt orange, coral red — all separated by those crisp white tape lines that are the heartbeat of my process.

I wasn’t sure it would all hold together. That’s the honest truth. But when I pulled the tape? The shapes locked in. The colors sang. The balance was there.

This is why I paint. That moment when the chaos resolves into something that just works.

The tape came up — and honestly? I was jaw-dropping shocked by my own painting. 😍

This is Spectrum Scatter — the newest piece in my geometric watercolor series, and I have to say… this one hit different.

I’ve been experimenting with color balance in a big way lately. My goal with this piece was to use a more intentional, balanced palette — mixing earthy warm tones with brighter, high-energy hues. Magenta triangles living next to golden yellows. A cobalt blue square anchoring cool teals. Rich brown grounding a lime green that practically glows.

Shape by shape. Color by color. Every decision was deliberate — and the results? Honestly insane in the best possible way. 🙌

The moment I pulled the tape and saw those clean white lines separate each section — I felt it. That feeling when a painting becomes exactly what you hoped it would be.

If you love bold abstract art, geometric watercolor, or you’re someone who collects contemporary pieces with real color energy — this one was made for you.

Raw. Real. Untapped. 🎨

I didn’t feel like myself today — and I almost let that stop me from painting.

But I’ve learned something about showing up on the hard days: the art doesn’t care how you feel. It just asks you to begin.

Chromatic Uprising is the result of that decision. A continuation of my geometric tape-masking series — this time, I challenged myself to experiment with more balanced color relationships while still honoring the brighter, more electric tones I’m drawn to. It was a delicate push-and-pull between harmony and boldness.

And when I peeled back the tape? Jaw-dropping. Even on a day I almost didn’t show up, the colors found their rhythm.

This painting is a reminder — to me and maybe to you — that gratitude and action are better than waiting to feel ready. The breakthrough often lives on the other side of resistance.

I almost skipped painting today. I’m so glad I didn’t.

There’s something raw about sitting down with nothing but tape-masked shapes and a feeling you can’t name yet.

Today I made a deliberate shift — I wanted balance to lead. Not the usual bold-first approach. I chose a more grounded base palette and let the brighter colors arrive as moments — not as the whole story.

When the tape came off?

Jaw-dropping. Genuinely. The geometry aligned in a way that felt earned. The muted and the vibrant found each other. The painting told me what it wanted to be.

This is “Vivid Equilibrium” — and it’s proof that showing up even on the uninspired days unlocks something untapped.

🎨 Chromatic Equilibrium — and the day I almost didn’t paint.

Some days are heavier than they should be. Today was one of those days.

I almost skipped the studio. Almost talked myself out of it.
Instead, I picked up my brushes — and let color do the talking.

I wanted something different with this one. More balance across the palette, with bold, untapped pops of brightness breaking through — citron triangles, cobalt squares, tangerine corners catching light. All anchored by deep, grounding plum.

The tape came off. The shapes revealed themselves.

And honestly? It was jaw-dropping how much lighter I felt by the end.

This is Chromatic Equilibrium — and it’s one of the pieces I’m most proud of this year.

The Tape Goes Down. The Story Begins.

My knee said rest. My hands had other plans.

There I was — reclined on the couch, knee propped up, ice pack doing its thing — when the itch hit. You know the one. That untapped creative restlessness that refuses to wait for a “better moment.”

So I grabbed my board, balanced it across my lap, and started laying tape.

And just like that, a new painting was born — right there on my living room couch.

I’m calling this one a work in progress, but what you’re looking at in this photo? It’s the hidden stage most people never see. The raw skeleton of a geometric watercolor before a single drop of paint touches the paper. Triangles and squares locked in tension — shapes that don’t know yet what colors they’re about to become.

This is the unspoken part of the creative process: the planning, the precision, the quiet before the color riot.

Here’s what makes this method so jaw-dropping: the tape is the magic. Every masked edge holds a secret until the very end. And when I finally pull it? The reveal is explosive.

This painting is just getting started — and I can’t wait to show you where it goes.

My knee begged me to stop. I painted anyway — and this happened. 🔥

I’m in the middle of a geometric series that keeps pushing me to experiment. Today’s goal: more balanced base colors with unexpected pops of brightness. The kind of palette that earns your second look.

But here’s what almost stopped this painting from existing:

I’ve been dealing with recovery pain in my left knee. Today was rough. I almost didn’t set foot in the studio.

I showed up anyway.

And the tape pull on Scatter & Surge revealed something outrageous — lime green framed in deep orange, teal commanding the upper canvas, a purple square that just refuses to be ignored. This is what geometric watercolor looks like when color finally gets to be brave.

I’m so glad I didn’t skip today.

I took a risk on this painting. The tape-pull revealed something I didn’t expect. 🔥

I wanted to experiment — same geometric style, but this time? More balance first… then one wild color that had no business being there.

And somehow it made the whole thing explode.

This is “Frequency Shift” — part of my ScatterAndBloom watercolor collection — and honestly, I’m obsessed with how it turned out. Raw. Real. Unhinged in the best way.
