NEW THIS YEAR! Saturday at about noon - We've collaborated with the annual Classic Car Rally, the Cruise In which happens every year on Main Street between the Fairgrounds and Courthouse. This year the Festival is providing music for the lunch time crowd. Music will be provided by Broken Top Bluegrass. We are so excited about this development!

So many great late additions - this just in! We wrangled the wonderful Richard Melling into doing a resophonic guitar (ie dobro) workshop on saturday morning!

Richard is a force in roots music who will mesmerize you with his voice and killer guitar and dobro playing. We are thrilled to have him back this year.

CAMPING UPDATE:
We've secured tent camping at the high school football field for the festival! Even better news is that they will make the bathrooms and showers available as well! Cost will be $20 per night. It will be walk in only similar to the City Park, so no Vans or RVs on the field. We will include the high school on the Shuttle runs to the Courthouse as well.

It is a lovely grassy area with a fantastic view and fossil digging right there so we hope some of you will take advantage of it!

Hello friends of the festival - IMPORTANT NEWs to share: we've just learned from the City of Fossil that the City Park next to the Motel WILL NOT be available for camping this year because they are busily renovating that facility. We will be working with them to determine if we can make the beautiful grassy area at the high school might be an alternative. Stay tuned to this page for more info, and we apologize for the inconvenience if that is your preferred camping area.

And remember the Wheeler County Fairgrounds is a sure bet for camping.

We are beyond thrilled to have the one and only Jonti Siman joining us for his first time at Fossil. Jonti is a world class bass player originally from South Africa who has performed throughout North America and Europe, playing various styles of music including jazz, bluegrass, experimental music, rock and American roots music.

Primarily known as a jazz bassist, Jonti is also an avid bluegrass player who loves throwing down a groove and picking fiddle tunes on the bass. Its truly something to behold! Jonti will be sharing his bass wisdom at a Saturday workshop, and will also play a set with his musical dueling partner Dale Adkins.
