El Camino" By:
9.0/ 10 🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙

Joe savage has such a rich rasp in his voice that is so smooth on the ears. Usually when artists have this type of voice they tend to stick to slower songs that allows them to show it off, while Joe does have plenty of those on his album he's also not afraid to change it up and do something out of left field. All of his songs have a unique feeling and perspective about them. The only two expectations are the covers he does, which are both solid interpretations of the original  and have his own twist on them. This was a great album to discover . Let me know if you have listened to this album and tell me your favorite songs in the comments. Thanks for reading and God bless

"Listening To the Music" By:
9.8/10 🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼

This album is a warm blanket you just want to stay in all day. This album feels like Merle and James Taylor collaborated to make the sound of America. This is mainly due to Zephaniah's voice and truly authentic lyrics, mixed with traditional sounds that have just a splash of modern sophistication. The first third of the album shows a broad but definitive narrative of a relationship. Starting with the optimistic outlook in the beginning and ending with pain of having to move on. While these first four songs are amazing by themselves, they really need to be listened to together. The rest of the album is full of images and sentiment of the American spirit. All the songs graded very high but the two that stuck out ahead of the rest are " It's Not so Easy Today" and " We Planned to Have It All". I know I haven't reviewed music in a long time but this album was too good not to talk about. Tell me your favorite song in the comments below. Thanks for reading and God Bless

“Memory And A Dirt Road” By:
9.0/10
What a perfect match of great content and a perfect title. I feel like every song deserves to be listened to on a dirt road. Adding to that is that every song feels like an actual memory of Cody’s . This album has a concise feel to it that allows it all to flow together. That being said it is on the shorter side of what I would call an album, but that’s not a negative, since you’re able to feel like you’re connected to the message of the album from the first song. Now there are certain parts of this album that feel some what Jason Aldeanish in the sound, but Cody’s voice doesn’t come off as “in your face” like Jason’s does. I highly recommend you give this album a listen to. Thanks for reading and God Bless.

If you’re looking for a portal to a 90’s H***y Tonk I found one for you. We hear a lot about a 90’s revolution in today’s music, but what that actually means is a modern artist doing their interpretation of what they think that is. This album is an actual 90’s throwback, from the sounds, to the almost laughable good time songs and even the vocals. The lead singer has that nasally twang reminiscent of Tracy Lawrence. The songs aren’t breaking any new ground, they’re traditional themes of drinking, women and heart breaks. However there is one song that is very original and super meta, but I’ll let you go listen to it for yourself. Overall this is a fun album and I think it deserves a listen. Thanks for reading and God Bless.

“Frontier” By:
8.9/10 🌄🌄🌄🌄🌄🌄🌄🌄

This album isn’t afraid to take some risks , whether that’s with pushing towards a more rock sound or bringing faith into the music. Which unfortunately is considered taking a risk in today’s world. The album sounds amazing and throughout it Joey shows off his amazing voice. While I think he sounds best when his voice is the main focus, the sound definitely takes center stage on a few songs. On those songs the sound is more of a southern rock almost gothic. When that’s not the case there’s a great blend of traditional instruments and Joey’s voice. And I can’t go with out mentioning the last two songs of the album. The first one “Momma prayed “ is a great song that has faith elements in obviously. But I was blown away by “How Great Thou Art” it’s sounds amazing. If you’re not into those songs I think there’s plenty of other songs to love. Thanks for reading and God bless..

Everything Has Changed” By:

Now I wouldn’t call this a traditional country album. And there’s two reasons for that, the first being the voice and delivery of Kolton. It’s not bad, but his voice reminds me more of a blues/ soft rock kind of sound. And the second being the sound and tone of the album. I’m not a big fan of just slapping the label Americana on something , so I would describe the sound of this album more adult contemporary / easy listening. There a little sparks of country instrumentation, however they are not front and center. All that being said I do really enjoy the album. Kolton’s song writing is top notch. He’s able to take specific details of life and turned them into very relatable songs. This is the most obvious in “Kyle’s Song”. A song about losing someone is very difficult for me to critique, and I’m not trying to that here. Just pointing to this song as a great example on how to turn those very intimate moments into something we can all understand. All the songs are written with these amazing little details. Only being seven songs long and under thirty minutes, you should have no excuse to go check this one out. Would definitely be a great album to start the year with. Thanks for reading and God Bless

Below are my Top 10 Albums of 2019.
# 10: “ Ain’t Nothin’ To It” By:
:Cody’s voice kept this a top 10. I felt at times it seems to be a little off brand, and doesn’t necessarily flow that great.
# 9: “Cheap Silver and Solid Country Gold” By:
: Everyone loves the fanciness of this album and has been appearing at the top of a lot of lists. But for me it’s just a little to short to be compared to a full length album.
# 8: “Harold Saul High” By:
:It’s not a country album, but this might be a historic album in the Texas/Red Dirt scene. Would not be surprised if we look back at this album as a turning point 10 years from now.
# 7: “ Good Old Fashioned Pain” By:
: This is not a Texas/ Red Dirt Album, but I think it deserves to be recognized. Summed up in one word this album is very Wise.
# 6: “Homeland Insecurity” By:
: Very consistent, and since it came out so early in the year could be argued this was that sound track to 2019.
# 5: “ Good Ones Never Last” By:
: I think this launches Kolby into the fastest rising star in the Scene. I feel the conviction in his voice when he sings.
# 4: “Songs From the Exile” By:
: My favorite song writing of the year. Reminds me when I discovered Jason Isbell.
# 3: “One Light Town” By:
: The Most underrated album of the year. For the amount of volume, there are almost no duds. He’s able to make songs that would usually come off as cheesy sound good.
# 2 “Last Call For Dreamers” By:
: Unique vocals that definitely makes it sound like Texas made in Seattle. After the album came out in early summer was my go to, when I wasn’t sure what I wanted to listen to. And I rarely, if ever skipped a song.
# 1 “Muchos Sonidos” By: .jeffrey
: Represent all the amazing sounds of Texas & Red Dirt. Has all the highs and lows you need and the song writing is on point. @ San Antonio, Texas
