There are artists you encounter whose trajectory feels clear almost immediately. Wes Coke Wes Coke- oil painter is one of them.

Trained in bronze sculpture at the University of North Texas, Wes came to oil painting in 2020, bringing with him an understanding of the figure built first in three dimensions. In a remarkably short period of time, he has developed a visual language that feels distinctly his own.

In Inside a Thought, the figure is almost entirely consumed by pattern. Stripes move from background to body until the distinction between the two begins to disappear. The face is completely withheld. What should be visually loud becomes strangely quiet.

There is tension in that contradiction, and throughout this body of work. Wes uses pattern, color and the human figure to create images that feel immediately accessible, but become less certain the longer you spend with them.

That restraint is one of the things that first drew you to his work. He doesn’t resolve the image for you. He trusts the viewer enough to leave something unanswered.

Wes is still at the beginning of his career as a painter, and we believe we are watching an important artist find his voice in real time.

Fort Works Art is proud to present Wes Coke: Inside a Thought, opening September 19 for Fort Worth Fall Gallery Night.

JURORS ANNOUNCED - DEADLINE EXTENDED - A MAJOR NATIONAL OPPORTUNITY FOR ARTISTS

Fort Works Art and Gallery of Dreams are honored to announce Michael De Luca and Angelique De Luca as jurors for 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑆𝑖𝑙𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝐶𝑢𝑡, a national exhibition exploring the intersection of contemporary visual art and cinema.

The exhibition will run in conjunction with the Lone Star Film Festival, with Gallery of Dreams hosting four nights of festival panel programming in November.

Michael De Luca is Co-Chair and CEO of Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group and a three-time Academy Award-nominated producer whose credits include 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑆𝑜𝑐𝑖𝑎𝑙 𝑁𝑒𝑡𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑘, 𝑀𝑜𝑛𝑒𝑦𝑏𝑎𝑙𝑙 and 𝐶𝑎𝑝𝑡𝑎𝑖𝑛 𝑃ℎ𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑖𝑝𝑠. Under his leadership, Warner Bros.’ 2026 slate earned 11 Academy Awards—six for Best Picture winner 𝑂𝑛𝑒 𝐵𝑎𝑡𝑡𝑙𝑒 𝐴𝑓𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝐴𝑛𝑜𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟, four for the record-breaking 𝑆𝑖𝑛𝑛𝑒𝑟𝑠 and one for 𝑊𝑒𝑎𝑝𝑜𝑛𝑠.

Angelique De Luca is the founder and CEO of Four Falling Stars Productions and a Fort Worth native. She is Chair of the Lone Star Film Festival’s Board of Directors and a co-producer of 12 𝑀𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡𝑦 𝑂𝑟𝑝ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑠. Angelique has been a driving force in connecting Fort Worth’s artists, filmmakers and audiences to the national film community.

Together, they bring two powerful and complementary perspectives: one from the highest levels of the global motion-picture industry and the other rooted in producing, cultural leadership and the continued growth of film in Fort Worth. Their understanding of how images communicate character, atmosphere, emotion and narrative will inform their personal review of the submitted work.

Artists working across all media and at every career stage are invited to submit. Photography is emphasized, but the call is open to artists throughout the United States.

Deadline: September 26, 2026
Application fee: $45

August 17, 1962.

Just weeks after Marilyn Monroe’s passing, this iconic photograph by Lawrence Schiller appeared on the cover of LIFE magazine, a moment that would become part of Marilyn’s enduring visual legacy.

Taken during the filming of Something’s Got to Give, Schiller captured Marilyn in one of her final months: luminous, effortless, and unmistakably herself.

64 years later, we’re bringing the image back to life.

Because the best photographs don’t simply live in the past. They keep finding new ways to be seen.
64 years later. A new life for an iconic image. A legacy made to continue.

We’re still thinking about this past weekend! ✨

We had the opportunity to showcase some beautiful art with Autobahn Fort Worth and Range Rover for a private house event.

With jewelry from Maison Olisa Hat fittings and designs by American Hat Company Leather branding, accessories by Wild Silks and a private cooking experience at the end of the night, we were thrilled to bring Fort Works Art into a new environment, where we can showcase our artists in unexpected ways. With a mixture of Texas tradition, the weekend captured a true sense of elevated design and community in Fort Worth.
