Yasutomo Ihara, a Japanese stunt performer associated with the Power Rangers franchise, reportedly went from performing as a masked hero on screen to being convicted in Japan for a shocking burglary spree.

According to reports, Ihara was involved in breaking into 43 homes and was ultimately sentenced to 5 years in prison. The story became even more bizarre online because some posts claimed he used skills learned from his stunt work to carry out the burglaries. However, that specific “he used his Power Rangers training” detail is often repeated without strong primary-source documentation.
