We had a wonderful time celebrating the end of a busy music ministry season at one of our favorite places, La Playa Maya! We’re so grateful for the dedication, talent, and faithful service of all our musicians. Thank you for sharing your gifts and helping lead our congregation in worship throughout the year!

Did you know: nearly 30 Choral Scholars have sung with our choir since the program began at St. Stephen 10 years ago? Join us as we invite all of our former Choral Scholars “home” on Sunday, May 31! This new tradition will occur at the end of May each year and will include catching up with the choir over coffee and pastries, and singing during worship with those who can make it. We can hardly wait! 🎶

We are deeply grateful to be receiving two wonderful, small, practice pipe organs: 1967 Reuter (2 manuals, 2 ranks) and 1949 Möller (2 manuals, 6 ranks). With the imminent renovation of Ed Landreth at TCU, the removal and relocation of these instruments was necessary. The smaller Reuter will be placed in the Director of Music’s office and the larger Möller will be placed in storage at the church with plans to install in the choir room in the future. (The Möller will be the most perfect instrument for rehearsing psalms!) In addition to our sanctuary and chapel organs, these will also be available for TCU organ students to rehearse on as needed. We have always appreciated our long-standing partnership with the TCU School of Music, and look forward to continuing that partnership and mutual support. Many thanks to TCU Organ Instructor, Guillermo Martinez, for his careful discernment in helping to find homes for these cherished instruments. We are glad they will remain “close to home!”

It’s the end of another semester, which means juries and finals for our choral scholars. Our amazing volunteer singers always make sure each of them gets a bag filled with study snacks to help them through the final push at the end of the semester. Wishing them much success on all the upcoming exams! 📚🤓🎶
