Putting some final touches on my most recent painting "Alpine Hustle", Oil on 18 x 24 panel. I'm no cowboy, but I love painting cowboys, buffalo, horses and mules. I guess that's part of being a Texan artist and living in Fort Worth. I combined photos I took from a trip through Colorado with photos I took of a Chisholm Trail Wagon Train not far from my house. If you like western art, I will put the original up for sale soon. Limited Edition Prints will be available too. More later.

This painting, Trailhead by the Lake, as the name suggests is on a bikeable hiking trail near North Bend Washington. This particular trail comes out by the lake and its beauty inspired me to photograph it and so it turns out that I also painted it as well. Just about finished with my newest painting — “Meeting at the Bridge”, 10 x 10 inches, oil on canvas panel.I love the quiet feeling of this little scene… soft light filtering through the trees and gentle reflections on the water. After setting this aside for a couple of months to think about how I wanted to finish it, I put it back on my easel a couple of days ago and completed the painting this morning. Here is "Walk at Evening Tide" Oil on 36 x 36 canvas.
