Hub was a legend, and Cowtown Opry was honored to have several years of performing our Texas Independence Day remembrance on the steps of the Cowtown Coliseum every March 2nd, at Hub's invitation. Thank You, Sir.
The Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame is saddened by the loss of honoree and board member Herbert “Hub” Baker. Hub was the Executive Director of Cowtown Coliseum in the Fort Worth Stockyards for almost three decades. During this span he produced and hosted the Red Steagall Cowboy Gathering, The Texas Circuit Finals Rodeo, The Women’s National Finals Rodeo and the first two years of the PBR Tour. Additionally, the weekly Stockyards Championship Rodeo held at Cowtown Coliseum entertained visitors from around the world. There is no better photo to embody Hub than this one - larger than life, always ready to entertain and a friend to all. We will continue to tell his stories at the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame.
