Michael inspires me to continue working on the books I am hoping to write and illustrate. The illustration part is tripping me up, but studying with Alain Picard in his Still-life course is helping past some tangles. May God bless Michael in his work.

Paint!

Two weeks ago in the Texas Hill Country, fawns and the does in New Braunfels. I am sure that wildlife is being affected by the floods. Praying for every creature affected that God will touch and heal you all.

Largest pastel painting I have ever painted was installed recently and I wanted to share it with you.

This pastel is 56”x74” before the frame, and it travelled by truck to Georgia where it hangs on Lake Burton.

I call it Lake Burton Majesty. Lots of surprises and challenges bringing this painting to life, but I couldn’t be more pleased with how it looks in its home. Like it’s meant to be there.

The majesty of nature is on display in that beautiful place.

I learned from this commission to press through your challenges, because beauty is waiting on the other side!

UPDATE - Everyone wants to know so I will provide the framing materials. This painting was done on UART400 roll mounted to 1/2" Gatorboard. It is framed behind Optium Museum Acrylic glazing with no spacers, passé partout style. The glazing is lighter, shatter resistant, and UV filtering, a great product.

A Roadrunner let me know who was in charge of the Grassland Cemetery west of Post, TX this week! It was wonderful to see they actually had good crops at Grassland this year.
