Artist Heith Banowetz has built his practice around observation, patience, and fine detail.

Working with ink, colored pencil, and graphite, Banowetz layers meticulous linework, hand-drawn patterns, and rich textures to transform classic portraiture into narrative scenes. In his Cowboy Drinking Coffee series, he places his figures in unexpected, highly detailed settings—leaving each image open for the viewer to imagine the story behind it.
