I think a reason why Gonzo is often considered one of the best Muppets is because so many can relate to him

Many of us feel like outcasts, whether it be because of our interests, our behavior, or the parts of us we hide from our judgmental society, but it's a character like Gonzo, who wears his weirdness as a badge of honor that makes us feel understood and gives us hope for ourselves.
