Not local Texas music, but I wanted to introduce you to an awesome band from LA that I met at the Gary Numan show. This is Tremours. They put on such a great show! I’m hoping we can get them back to North Texas soon!!!!

Today’s spotlight is a new band from Houston, Jumprope. Saw these guys open up for Polyphonic Spree at Tulips on 7/20, and can’t wait for their return to Tulips on 8/17. Their sound is dreamy rock pop mixed evenly with indie influences. Give them a listen, follow them on the socials. If you’re in Ft Worth on August 17, go see their live show, you won’t regret it!!!!

Last night we went to see Tripping Daisy at The Factory. This show brought back so many memories of following this band 30 years ago. The energy, the crowd, the awesomeness of seeing live music, and the art that is any Tripping Daisy show. The presence of the original guitarist, Wes Berggren, was definitely there with the visuals playing in the background of shows from the 90’s. I’m so glad that they are talking about new music coming and a tour in 2025!!!!

Happy Thursday everyone!!! Today I’d like to put a spotlight on Squeezebox Bandits.

I personally got to witness this band perform at Twilite Lounge’s last night of business on Dec 6. What I saw and heard that night was straight TEXAS. Their music is a sweet combination of Tejano & country/western music that will get everyone moving & dancing. Today I want to showcase a local Fort Worth Reggae band, PABLO AND THE HEMPHILL 7! Pablo started out in the 90’s, and are still pumping the music out today. They were the headliners at Fort Worth’s “Friday on the Green” back in April. Joe Vano’s soulful voice is amazing and hasn’t changed over the almost 30 years of jamming! Just like the song states, “I should have stayed in bed today!”

Time for a Texas flashback. Born in Dallas, TX, Stevie Ray Vaughan became one of the premier guitarist of his day, and probably of some of our lifetime. Stevie played blues guitar on David Bowie’s album, Let’s Dance, in 1983. Stevie battled his demons with alcohol & drugs and won. Unfortunately after he became clean and sober, Stevie left this world due to a helicopter crash in Wisconsin on August 27, 1990. Stevie remains in our hearts!
