Creative acts are an engagement with unknown entities of transcendental power. It is a sacred journey. It's meaningful regardless of how others may judge it. Whether we want it to or not, our creative work inevitably expresses our relationship with our inner world. When shared with the world outside of us, we pray it will have meaning and make a difference for others. That's my take on creativity anyway.

What do you caretaking gals out there think of this? This is my most recent work titled "Lioness Legacy." I wrote a verse to accompany it to reflect my thoughts in its creation. "God's gift to us - Lady Lioness - our mother, our Pride, Without you, we'd falter, in your strength we reside. From conception, you embraced the challenge, Pushing through hardships, your resolve so gallant.
Balancing roles, nurturing with grace, Your love and protection, a timeless embrace. Through generations, your spirit reverberates loud, In every stride, in every roar, steadfast and proud. I created this artwork for my daughter for Mother's Day. This piece will soon be available at www.sandraleearts.com as a fine print in varied sizes. Commission works are always welcomed. If you're considering a Commission piece, this description of this art may help you see how your words can guide my creation for you.

My sentiment here, in addition to the obvious holiday recognition, is my reflection of my daughter curled up with her arms resting on her knees, which are drawn close to her body. Her head is bowed, suggesting contemplation or introspection (I know this to be true of her in life today). The detailing in the hair is particularly notable, with individual strands flowing organically and imbuing her with a sense of movement and life. The clothing is illustrated with an understanding of her style in fabric, color, and texture, as seen in the denim pants, which have a realistic look. Color and patterns play a vital role in this piece. The breadth of color seems to underscore the dichotomy between the inner world of her and the outer garment, perhaps symbolizing the complex layers of identity and emotion. With a powerful emotional resonance; her posture suggests vulnerability and quietude that most viewers may find relatable on a deeply personal level. Side note: she loved the piece!
