Tap Cancer Out is in the books. I didn’t get a win today, but I think I had the most fun at a tournament today then I ever had. Coaching the kiddos and my teammates was a blast, and fighting this dude ended up being a show stopper. I may have lost the fight against him but we won the crowd!

I can’t thank you all enough for your love and support for me and this tournament. It is amazing every year. I truly have the best people around me.

Video of the fights will come shortly. Right now I gotta ice everything that hurts and recover. Until next time!!

This is the leaderboard of the final week for Tap Cancer Out. I am currently in 4th place with only $460 to go to hit this goal. There’s only 3 days left before the fundraiser ends and we step on the mat. Let’s get the last of this bar filled before Friday night!

Names will be going on the gi soon. Photos will be taken Friday night when it’s done. I appreciate all who contributed to the gi this year. If you haven’t put a name on the gi this year yet and would like to, there’s still time. Donate to help us get to our goal and send me a message with the names you would like to dedicate your donation to. We will honor their fight with this fight on Saturday.

Also, for those of you in the DFW that would like to come support me and Team Genesis on Saturday, the tournament is being held at the Game On Sports Complex in Fort Worth:

2600 Alemeda Street
Fort Worth, TX 76108

Doors open at 8am, the awards ceremony for highest fundraisers are usually at 9am, and the matches begin soon after. There’s a $10 spectator fee at the door. Come out and support your favorite peeps as we fight against cancer!

3 days. $460 to go. We can do this. Let’s fight cancer together.

Double gold in Denver! This is the first time I’ve won gold in both divisions in an IBJJF tournament. My opponent was tricky, but we were able to get the win this weekend. I was convinced not to do the open class this weekend, both by my friends and my lungs, so I’m able to say I’m undefeated in Denver!

Also super cool fact, I got to compete with a work colleague of mine that has help shaped the future and the goals of my career. Getting to watch him work and climb the top of the podium was awesome, and to win in front of him was an amazing feeling.

Life is better with jiu jitsu. Always. ❤️🥋❤️

In exactly 4 weeks I will tangle with giants at the Tap Cancer Out Dallas Open! We are roughly $730 away from hitting our next goal. We need help filling this bar! Join me in the fight for the cause by donating, sharing, commenting, liking, and getting the word out for my fundraising page. Links will be in the comments.

The list of names going on the gi will be etched as soon as I get back home. I’m currently traveling but will return next week, so stay tuned to see the progress. If you would like to dedicate a name to the uniform I will be wearing for the tournament, donate to the cause and message me with your loved one that has fought or is fighting cancer and I will wear their name while I fight with honor.

Let’s fill this bar. Let’s hit this goal. Let’s fight cancer together!

We are training hard for Tap Cancer Out on May 25th. We are also 4th on the individual leaderboard for most raised, and we are not far behind 3rd place. Help me fight against cancer by donating to the cause. When you donate, you can dedicate your donation to a loved one, friend, coworker anyone you know and loved that has fought against cancer and I will write their name on my uniform that I will be wearing for the tournament. You can read more about this fundraiser and my story with the link in the comments.

I made it on the leaderboard! Now to chase that title that’s eluded me each year, top individual fundraiser. I got some ground to make up, but I fully believe we can do it.

I need your help. Let’s keep pushing and hit this goal so I can get higher on this leaderboard. All of us are working to help fight cancer and support cancer research, so there are no losers in this race. We can fight cancer together.

Teaching has always been a passion project of mine. Whether it’s at work, taekwondo, or jiu jitsu, I will always look for ways to give back to the arts that made me who I am today. This program just finished week 3, and we officially had 16 kids of all ages, sizes, and backgrounds on the mat this afternoon to learn from Coach John Hoffman. These kids made me remember what the mats gave me when I was their age. It gave me motivation, direction, discipline, and friendships I wouldn’t have had otherwise. Hopefully we can empower these kids with the same principles that were instilled in us. Hopefully they’ll look back and see the safe space we are trying to provide for them. Hopefully, we will have an impact.

If you know a family that could benefit from this program or if you want to help sponsor kids into the program, contact Coach John. For more information check out www.Thematmission.org.
