Today I invoke the name of the Baroness Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven -
I want to have some transparency about what is happening here- These are images I have created using photos of my own, then running those photos through a Generative AI tool called MidJourney in Discord server that I have set up. From there I input text prompts including my cameras, lenses, focal lengths, lighting situations, etc- I can even prompt to “pull inspiration from the photographer Colton Batts” and because I have so much content over the years the outputs are pretty insanely spot-on to my portfolio. - anyway I then take these outputs, change them/edit them in photoshop - then throw that back into MidJourney and then so on ad infinitum - So then I design a layout I feel is cohesive, set it all up in shop and then I post that layout here and that’s what you see.
I don’t know if this is helpful or clarifying for anyone and hopefully no one feels like I was trying to pull a fast one or something like that. As I’ve been making photographs with subjects like floating women whose heads are on fire for years before and leading up to this new technology even existed, I suppose I assumed there would be some suspension of belief to anything I produce.
So I ask - what even is a photo anymore?
