First Presbyterian Theater, an intimate 300-seat proscenium community theater, is an outreach of First Presbyterian Church. Their mission is to present an entertaining season of thought-provoking plays and musicals which give audiences and volunteers opportunities to examine, explore and enrich their lives.

Step into the delightfully chaotic world of the Bliss family, where the drama never stops, and the guests never quite know what they’ve gotten themselves into. HAY FEVER is a sparkling comedy of manners filled with sharp wit and larger-than-life personalities. With hosts this outrageous, escape may be the only option… but will the guests make it out with their dignity intact? Directed by Jordan Plohr.

🎭First Pres Theater Throwback: "Side by Side by Sondheim" 🎶

The 1988 season was called "Sondheim Bookends," and it premiered with this production of "Side by Side by Sondheim", starring Dan Albers, Julie Donnell, Pam Smith Good, Grace Harrold, Gary Lanier, and Ben Wiseman, and featuring FPC's now retired pianist and organist extraordinaire, Kathy Miller! The show was directed by 🎵Wyant Mortan, 🎬John Tolley, and 🕺Michael Telvin.

A personal favorite of FPT's Drama Minister Emeritus, John Tolley, "Side by Side by Sondheim" will once again be on the stage for our upcoming 2026/27 Season, opening on January 29, 2027! 💕

First Pres Theater Throwback: "Private Lives" - November/December 1989 🎭

In late 1989, First Presbyterian Theater returned to the witty world of Noel Coward with "Private Lives", directed by First Pres legend John Tolley.

Starring Molly McCray, Gregory Manifold, Ranae Butler, Mace Whiting, and Megan Brown, this sparkling comedy delivered all the sharp dialogue, romantic chaos, and sophisticated mischief Coward is known for.

These wonderful production photos were captured by the late Patty Griest, whose work preserved so many treasured moments from our church and theater history.

If you look closely at the playbill photo, you'll notice a reminder that smoking was still permitted in McKay Foyer back then. Different times! 😄

We’re grateful for the artists, directors, photographers, and audiences who helped build the rich tradition of theater at First Pres. Their creativity continues to inspire us today.

🎭 First Pres Theater Throwback: Always... Patsy Cline 🎶

Twenty-five years ago, First Presbyterian Theater brought the musical, "Always... Patsy Cline", to life on our stage! Starring Melissa Myers and Julie Longwell, and directed by Thom Hofrichter, this show was an audience favorite and featured a live backing band.
