NEW FRIENDS...The Philharmonic Friends always welcome new Friends! Do you have a heart for serving young musicians in Fort Wayne? Even a little of your time would be greatly appreciated. The current Board meets once a month and is seeking additional volunteers to fill some positions. Message us for more info or plan to attend the Annual Meeting on September 14.

We are so happy to be able to continue supporting music education despite the times! The Philharmonic Friends just awarded $9,679 to 28 students for the 2020-2021 school year. These scholarships are given to elementary and secondary students to help with the cost of private lessons for orchestral instruments or vocal lessons. Congratulations to our winners!

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY! We provide scholarships to promising elementary and secondary orchestral instrument or vocal students who need assistance in meeting the cost of private lessons. It's not too late to get tickets to the Philharmonic Gala on June 2!!!

With just 14 days left, 210 individuals have made reservations for Philharmonious, our first gala in five years and the Board's only fundraiser this year. Co-chairs Carole Fuller and Ben Eisbart are asking each and every one of you to help fill the other 65 seats to put us over the top.

The Fort Wayne Philharmonic’s gala fundraiser PHILharmonious: Farm to Fork features former White House Chef John Moeller, along with Joseph Decuis’ award-winning culinary team, who will create an unforgettable evening of fine dining, excellent music, and unique “live” and silent auction items, all in support of the Philharmonic’s Youth Education and Community Engagement programs.

Autographed copies of Chef Moeller’s Award Winning Cookbook “Dining at the White House—From the President’s Table to Yours”—will be available with a portion of the proceeds going to the event.

At the suggestion of the chef, the main meat course has been upgraded to Wagyu Beef Short Ribs, while the Salmon and Vegetarian menu options remain as advertised. Comfortable footwear is recommended and patrons are encouraged to contact the Philharmonic to accommodate any special needs.

An impressive array of live and silent auction items are offered, so come ready to bid, made easier by our Express Check Out that allows for easy payment and shorter wait times upon exiting at the end of the evening.

If you are burned out on politics, I suggest making Great Britain's ClassicFM your default radio station. It's a commercial classical station, but very light stuff you can listen to at work. They do take a news break for five minutes every hour and it's a hoot to listen to how the Brits think of our election. (Cool news: Andrew Constantine worked there when he was in college.) Tune in to www.classicfm.com. You'll need a UK postcode just one time for access. I've used Buckingham Palace: SW1A 0AA.
