1yr later. We're still pushing forward for you Fort Stockton! Keep chasing your dreams!!
For immediate release.
It is with deep sadness that we must inform the public that the City of Fort Stockton has made a decision to terminate our lease contract at the Fort Stockton Movie Theatre. The reasoning: âfailure to establish an amicable landlord-tenant relationship.â is in our opinion is a political move and admittedly an unjust, abuse of power reason for termination. After attempts to make amends and to save our beloved theatre, we have been given the ârun-aroundâ with blame shifting back and forth to whose decision this was. We are extremely disappointed in our city leadership with their collective decision to abruptly stop what we have worked tirelessly for when there are council members that have never paid the courtesy to visit us and see what exactly we had been doing at the Fort Stockton Movie Theatre.
We understand that this news may come as a disappointment to many in our community. We believe we have provided a valuable service to Fort Stockton by managing the movie theatre in an ethical, professional and successful manner. We deeply apologize to our employees and thank you for being a crucial part of our success.
Weâd like to take this opportunity to thank you, the people, for your support and sharing our love for this theatre. Truth is, from the very beginning this business venture was never about the monetary value. We wanted to put to use a space that had sat vacant for over 5 years. To give back and reignite the fond memories of the previous entertainment center. Never did we imagine it would evolve into a labor of love for us to invest and give back to our community. We have loved decorating and theming the theatre to every movie and supporting all of you with many âfreeâ events that we were able to provide as well as scholarships, donations, and fundraising events that benefited our community.
In our 21 months of operating the city's movie theatre it has been our mission and life's purpose to provide a service desperately needed in this area. To offer something for the youth of our town, this more than anything is devastating that we cannot continue to provide that service to our youth.
This labor of love has been a tremendous journey for us, and again we cannot thank you, the people enough for your unwavering support. We will continue to run movies through the holidays with December 31st being our last day open for business. We invite you, your friends, and families to experience one last movie with us, the Panther Pictures way. Join us for the final Panther Pictures Premiere: WONKA [PG] December 15th - 31st.
Movies ignite our imaginations, planting seeds of wonder and possibility. They transport us to distant galaxies, introduce us to heroes and villains, and challenge us to see the world through new eyes. A single film can spark a lifelong passion, a dream yet to be chased. With those core values movies also give us messages, from the very first film we showed at the theatre: âUnmask the Truthâ to now our last film: âEvery good thing in this world started with a dreamâ. So, Fort Stockton, gather your courage, your creativity, and your love for the silver screen. Together, we can rewrite the ending, and make Panther Pictures a hero of its own story. Never stop chasing that dream.
