Okayyy but 28 has never looked this cute. ๐Ÿ‹โœจ๐Ÿค

Help us wish our girl Hannah the happiest 28th birthday! ๐ŸŽ‚

She really said birthday picnic, tiny cakes, platforms, tattoos & main character energyโ€ฆ and absolutely nailed it. ๐Ÿ˜

We hope 28 brings you more laughs, more memories, more pretty things, more reasons to celebrate, and everything you deserve. ๐Ÿ’›

Happy Birthday, Hannah! We love having you as part of the Skinart family. ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿผ

Now everybody go hype up the birthday girl in the comments. ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿฐโœจ

๐Ÿ’™ INK WITH PURPOSE: GAUGEโ€™S VOICE ๐Ÿ’™
Art That Gives Back
Presented by Skinart Salon & Spa

This one is personal.

On September 4th, 10 am to 6 pm.
Skinart Salon & Spa will be hosting our first Gaugeโ€™s Voice Autism Acceptance Day.

Weโ€™ll be offering FREE autism keyboard tattoos, inspired by a post I saw about Hunterโ€™s Voiceโ€”and by my own son, Gauge.

Gauge is ten years old, autistic, and nonverbal.

He may not communicate with spoken words, but that does not mean he has nothing to say. His AAC device is his voice. His gestures are communication. His behaviors are communication. The way he reaches for my hand, directs us where he wants to go, or finds another way to make himself understood is communication.

Gauge has spent far too much of his life being misunderstood by systems and people who were supposed to support him.

He has been excluded.

He has been judged for behaviors connected to his disability.

His communication has been overlooked simply because it does not look like everyone elseโ€™s.

That is why this event matters to me.

This isnโ€™t just about tattoos.

It is about reminding people that communication does not have to be spoken to be valid. It is about autism acceptance, disability rights, inclusion, and making sure families like ours know they are not alone.

Each tattoo will be pre-drawn, with one design per person, so we can serve as many people as possible throughout the Day.

There will be no charge for the tattoo.

Donations will be accepted to help cover the cost of tattoo supplies, but they will never be required or expected.

We will also be collecting donated items during the event to support Spectrum connections.

Items may include:

๐Ÿ’™ Sensory toys, fidgets, therapy putty, kinetic sand, and calming materials
๐Ÿ’™ Noise-canceling headphones and ear defenders
๐Ÿ’™ Weighted blankets, lap pads, and weighted stuffed animals
๐Ÿ’™ Sensory swings, compression items, wobble cushions, and therapy balls
๐Ÿ’™ AAC accessories, communication boards, PECS cards, and visual schedules
๐Ÿ’™ Visual timers and educational materials
๐Ÿ’™ Chew necklaces and other oral sensory tools
๐Ÿ’™ Adaptive utensils, cups, plates, toothbrushes, and personal-care supplies
๐Ÿ’™ Fine-motor and occupational therapy materials
๐Ÿ’™ Magnetic tiles, puzzles, books, art supplies, and educational toys
๐Ÿ’™ Sensory lights, bubble tubes, and calming-room items
๐Ÿ’™ Gift cards for groceries, gas, Walmart, Target, restaurants, or other everyday family needs

This event is not about using autism as a trend.

It is about listening.

It is about acceptance.

It is about honoring every form of communication.

And it is about turning awareness into actual support for the people and families living this reality every single day.

This is only the beginning.

My hope is that Ink With Purpose becomes an ongoing Skinart outreach projectโ€”using art to bring people together, tell stories that deserve to be heard, and give back to families who are too often expected to fight alone.

The official tattoo design is below ๐Ÿ‘‡

Please like, share, and tag anyone who may want to participate.

Whether you get a tattoo, donate an item, or simply help us spread the word, you are helping remind families like ours that our community sees them.

Gauge may not speak with his mouth.

But he has a voice.

And this event is one way we are making sure the world hears it.
