🗓️Today marks the season opening of our Splash Pad & Sensory Park, coming at you this year with a brand new accessible restroom and two new shade structures! We are incredibly lucky to have this beautiful park in our community, and as we enter our second full season, we again want to thank the generous donors who made it possible. 💸🫶🏼

⚠️As you jump into the fun, PLEASE remember to treat this amazing park with the respect and care it deserves. Keep it clean, follow the rules, and DO NOT climb or hang on the elements. We want to ensure everyone can enjoy this space for many years to come! 🌿💚

💦We’ve been receiving lots of questions asking when the SplashPad will be open for the season… and we’re so excited that YOU are excited! Please see below 👇🏼 The water will be ON this Saturday from 10 AM - 6 PM, so get out and enjoy! Make sure you stick around for live music and all kinds of fun starting at 6 PM under the pavilion! 💙

Come out and enjoy the Fort Scott Splashpad and Sensory Park this Saturday from 10:00 AM until the music starts at 6:00 PM! 🎶 It’s the perfect way to stay cool, have fun, and soak up some sunshine with friends and family.

Make the most of the day—pack your towels, sunscreen, and don’t forget your flip-flops!

🌞 Goodbye, Summer! 🌞

As the sunny days start to fade, we're saying goodbye to another fantastic season at the Fort Scott Splash Pad at the Gathering Square! 💦 We've had so much fun splashing around with you, and we can't wait to do it all again next summer! ☀️

Exciting News for 2025: New shade structures have been ordered to help you cool off in style! ☑
🚻 And we’re still working hard to get that bathroom added for even more convenience!

We’re going to kick this season off the right way! Join us for a fun, family-friendly evening in the beautiful Gathering Square, with festivities at the Splashpad and Sensory Park and the Pavilion!

Kick off the summer season with a “splash bash” at the Fort Scott Splashpad and Sensory Park under the new City of Fort Scott Pavilion!

The event will include live music with Surfin' USA - A Tribute to The Beach Boys. Opening band will be Vinyl Revival with dynamite disco, dance, and classic rock hits!

Saturday, May 18th

Vinyl Revival: 6:30 to 7:30
Surfin' USA: 8:00 to 10:00

😍It sure is looking pretty at the Gathering Square! 💦The splash pad features are going back up as we prep for the season. 🌸The flowers are coming in and those pops of color are beautiful (thanks to the Bourbon County Garden Club).🌱 The new mulch really makes it look sharp and clean (thanks to the volunteers at yesterday’s downtown clean up).🌞

How lucky are we to have this beautiful park in our town?!? We can’t wait to see everyone enjoying it again SOON! 💙🫶🏼

Thank you to the City of Fort Scott crew for taking the splashpad equipment down today. It is recommended that the features be taken down at the end of each season to prolong the useful life. Don’t fret though, it will return for the next operating season - along with some other exciting additions. Stay tuned for more news on that in the coming weeks!!
