The Gallery of Fine Art was founded in 1979 on the Lee County campus of what was at the time Edison Community College, now Florida SouthWestern State College. The Gallery has as its primary function the exhibition, presentation and interpretation of modern and contemporary international art. On June 4th 2004, the Gallery of Fine Art was renamed the Bob Rauschenberg Gallery at FSW, commemorating ou

r long time association and friendship with the artist. Over more than three decades until his death, the Gallery worked with Rauschenberg to present numerous world premiere exhibitions including multiple installations of the ¼ Mile or Two Furlong Piece. The Bob Rauschenberg Gallery at FSW is not affiliated with the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation.

To our GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA friends… We are delighted to announce that the ”Steve KEENE: RAUSCHENBERG 100 - A Centennial Celebration” exhibition has travelled from the Bob Rauschenberg Gallery at FSW and officially opens next week at the Santa Fe College Art Gallery in Gainesville, so here is a sneak peek from installing over the last few days. Join Marco Island Center for the Arts in an unforgettable evening with internationally recognized curator Jade Dellinger, Director of the Bob Rauschenberg Gallery at Florida SouthWestern State College.

In celebration of the 100th birthday of visionary artist Robert Rauschenberg, Dellinger will present an illustrated Distinguished Guest Art Talk, “Bob Rauschenberg in Florida & The Moon Museum: Apollo XII’s Secret Art Mission.” The program explores the fascinating and little-known story of the Moon Museum—the first known work of space art, secretly sent to the moon in 1969—alongside Rauschenberg’s deep and lasting connection to Florida.
