🎭📚 It was the first day of school at Florida Rep this morning as we welcomed our amazing volunteers—our beloved Scene Stealers—and our new class of interns for a morning of orientations!

We’re thrilled to welcome such a wonderful group of interns and our dedicated volunteers. Their time, talent, and enthusiasm mean the world to us—we truly couldn’t do it without them! ❤️

🎭✨ CASTING NEWS! ✨🎭

Florida Rep is excited to announce that two talented local young actors will share the pivotal role of Gloria in the classic thriller WAIT UNTIL DARK, opening Nov. 27! Please join us in welcoming Avalyn Calandra and Sarah Salerno! 👯‍♀️

The two young artists will share the role — and understudy each other throughout the run.

🌟 Avalyn Calandra, 16, is entering her junior year of high school and making her Florida Rep debut! Her credits include A Christmas Story and Mary Poppins Jr. at Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre; Baby Louise in Gypsy, featuring Jodi Benson, at Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall; Annie; and productions at North Fort Myers High School.

🌟 Sarah Salerno, 17, is making her Florida Rep professional debut, but she’s no stranger to our stages! An active participant in Florida Rep’s Education program, Sarah has appeared in Sweeney Todd: School Edition and Shrek Jr. She is a junior-year theatre major and Vice President of the theatre program at North Fort Myers High School, where her credits include The Play That Goes Wrong, Newsies, and an award-winning performance in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. She has also appeared in more than 10 professional productions at Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre.

👏 A huge thank you to everyone who auditioned for this exciting role. We were thrilled by the incredible amount of young talent we saw!
