To all of our Customers: First of all we are overwhelmed at the outpouring of support we’ve received from the Fort Mill community on the announcing of the closing of the Playhouse, so we wanted to say thank you for that! Second, since there are many questions mostly around “why” we are closing, we felt it was appropriate to give a response on that front. This basically boils down to 3 reasons, in order of importance: 1. Liability/Insurance: The insurance world has changed, and unfortunately the cost of insurance and the liability of running a facility like this has increased to a level that is very difficult to sustain given the risk and cost. 2. Location: This business model cannot sustain/support the increased value of this location. It’s why you see most of these type facilities in inferior locations. 3. The way we ran this business: We have tried from day 1 to place safety and quality above all else, which includes decisions to become “more profitable.” This was our philosophy from day 1, and we’d rather close than start to make decisions that move away from these 2 staples that have hopefully served your families and children well. While this business would work financially in a different location (which we heavily considered moving it), we felt the feel/quality/service would suffer and be downgraded, so this was the only course of action for our family given those 2 initial objectives of safety and quality. We hope these answers give a little insight into the “why” we are closing, and again want to thank you all for the outpouring of support. It means the world to us! Warren & Chrissi
