The coast has always been a deep source of inspiration for my work. Today, I wanted to highlight a few of my favorite beach and ocean pieces I’ve done!

There is something so calming about capturing the rhythm of the water and the energy of the shoreline on canvas. Whether I am blending deep blues and seafoam colors, or reflecting the warmth of the sun off the tide, painting these scenes always brings me a sense of peace.

Feeling incredibly grateful seeing this feature from ArtPop. 💛

This experience has been such a meaningful part of my journey as an artist, and I know I didn’t get here alone.

To everyone who has supported my creative path—those who have purchased my artwork, attended a workshop or class, taken a chance on my work, encouraged me to keep going, shared a post, brought a friend into the studio, or simply cheered me on along the way—thank you. Your support truly means more than you know. ❤️

And a huge thank you to ArtPop for this incredible opportunity to share Morning Glory with the world. Seeing my painting on billboards throughout Charlotte, in Times Square, and internationally has been an experience I never could have imagined when I first started painting it.

I’m so grateful for this creative community and for everyone who continues to be part of the journey.

Here’s to creating, dreaming big, and seeing where the art takes us next.

✨ What an incredible surprise!

One of the families who has been part of my studio community—whose kids attended my summer art camps and whose mom has taken my workshops—was visiting Times Square and spotted Morning Glory on the big screen! 🥹
I’m so grateful they took the time to snap this photo and send it to me.

Moments like these are hard to put into words. To think that a painting inspired by a quiet morning in the Blue Ridge Mountains with my two pups is now being seen in the middle of Times Square... it’s surreal.

A huge thank you to ArtPop for making opportunities like this possible and to OUTFRONT for helping bring artists’ work into public spaces where they can be discovered by so many people.

Feeling incredibly grateful for this unexpected moment and for the amazing community that continues to support my journey. ❤️

Some places stay with you long after you leave.

Last January, our family spent a day hiking at Torrey Pines, surrounded by incredible coastal views, warm light, and the rugged landscape. “Hike at Torrey Pines” grew out of that day and the memory of experiencing it together.

Look closely and you might spot a few tiny birds resting on the rock—one of my favorite little details in the painting.

I love that a painting can preserve not just the beauty of a place, but the feeling of being there. My hope is that it brings a sense of peace and connection into the home of whoever lives with it.

"Hike at Torrey Pines" is available to view at Luca Studio & Gallery in historic downtown Fort Mill and is also available through my online gallery.

It’s a small world after all...

A former student of mine was traveling through Brussels when he suddenly stopped in his tracks. He had just caught a glimpse of a familiar name on a digital billboard in the train station.

He couldn’t believe his eyes.

He waited for the display to cycle back around just to make sure—and there it was: my painting, “Morning Glory”, featured through ArtPop as part of an exhibition across 10 cities in Belgium. 🇧🇪

He was so surprised and excited that he reached out to me for the first time in years to tell me what had happened.

As an artist—and an art teacher—that message meant just as much to me as seeing my work displayed overseas. It’s amazing how art has a way of reconnecting people and creating unexpected moments across continents.

What are the chances that one of my former students would be passing through Brussels at exactly the right moment?

Thank you for sharing this incredible surprise. It’s a reminder that the world is both bigger and smaller than we think.

Thank you to Artcrush and ArtPop for helping bring “Morning Glory” to audiences across Belgium and creating opportunities for artists to connect around the world.

Swipe through to see Morning Glory appearing throughout Belgium. ✨
