If you've spent any time around Old Fort Players, you know that when something needs fixing, Ty Clute is our guy! As a dedicated board member and our head of facility maintenance, Ty works tirelessly behind the scenes to keep our theater safe, running, and ready for the public, whether that means climbing a ladder to get the stage lights perfectly dialed in or fixing a sudden maintenance issue.

But his service to Fort Madison doesn't stop when he leaves the theater. By day, you can find Ty working hard for the Fort Madison Public Works department, keeping our city streets clean and beautiful.

The ultimate definition of a hardworking community member, Ty wears many hats. And this summer, he's adding one more as a member of the cast for "George Washington Slept Here!"

We are incredibly lucky to have volunteers like Ty who pour their hearts into serving our community both on and off the clock. Next time you see him clearing brush around town or acting on our stage this July, be sure to give him a wave and a huge thank you!

Old Fort Players is thankful for our Community Behind the Curtain!

Many hands make light work... and a whole lot of sawdust!

When you come see a show at Old Fort Players, the magic doesn't just happen under the stage lights. It starts right here, with measuring tapes, power tools, and dedicated volunteers giving up their weekends to build an entire world from scratch.

Thank you to our volunteers, Kim Peterson and Julie Boyd, who are hard at work building the set for our upcoming production of "George Washington Slept Here." Coming to the OFP stage July 24, 25, and 26.

We are proud to be a true community theater. Every nail driven, every coat of paint rolled, and every prop sourced comes from the passion of neighbors helping neighbors. A massive thank you to our incredible set construction crew for turning imagination into reality!

Stay tuned as we feature more of the amazing people from our amazing communtiy who keep the magic of this theater alive!

Celebrating 250 years of American history... one repair at a time!

To commemorate our nation's 250th anniversary, Old Fort Players is bringing a classic American comedy to our stage this July!

We are so excited to present "George Washington Slept Here" by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman.

If you’ve ever bought a house that turned out to be a bit of a "fixer-upper" (or a total money pit), this show is for you! Follow the hilarious struggles of a city family trying to restore a dilapidated, historic colonial homestead where George Washington once allegedly spent the night.

Come celebrate our heritage with big laughs, incredible local talent, and a tribute to the endurance of the American dream... leaky roofs and all!

A huge thank you to our wonderful show sponsors, Bent Oak Books and Connection Bank, for making this production possible!
