Connection starts with a conversation!

We loved meeting with Nova Southeastern University students at the Alvin Sherman Library for Connect and Collaborate, a Davie-Cooper City Chamber of Commerce event!

As the founders of This Is Improv, we know how much can begin with listening, sharing ideas, and being open to someone else’s perspective. Bringing students and local businesses together creates space for those conversations and the possibilities that follow.

Thank you to the Chamber, the library, and the NSU students who connected with us. We’re excited to keep the conversation going! 💙

Our recent Improv for Kids show celebrated more than making things up. It gave our young improvisers a chance to put their skills into action:

🎤 Practicing public speaking and sharing their ideas.
💛 Exploring emotions and how to recognize and express them.
🙌 Discovering how body language helps tell a story.
💭 Exploring what improv means to them, from creativity and teamwork to having the courage to try something new.

We’re so proud of our students for listening, supporting each other, and bringing their imaginations to the stage. Thank you to the families who cheered them on! 💙

A huge thank you to the SOFLO Loco Improv Festival for bringing in Co-Owner of This Is Improv’s Alexandra Zadak to give her Acting with Archetypes Workshop.

The workshop featured ways to access and use archetypal characters for the stage and screen.

And the class was GREAT!!! Thank you to the students who came out and put themselves into these roles! And thank you to Main Street Players and Fawad Siddiqui for being incredible hosts!
