Last night, the Davie Woman’s Club was transformed into the ultimate wrestling-inspired comedy experience as PatSmash brought the energy, the laughs, and an amazing amount of heart.

This show reminded us that entertainment can be both wildly fun and meaningful. Beneath all the wrestling rage was a message we can all get behind: kindness matters.

Thank you so much to Patrick N. Price for sharing that message and making the whole space filled with laughter.

Nobody starts as an expert.

One of the biggest mistakes people make in improv, acting, public speaking, leadership, and life is believing they need to be good before they begin.

The truth? Every skilled improviser, performer, entrepreneur, and leader was once a beginner who felt awkward, nervous, and unsure.

Being a beginner isn’t a weakness, it’s a superpower.

Beginners are curious.
Beginners are willing to learn.
Beginners aren’t trapped by “the way things have always been done.”

The next time you’re afraid to try something new, remember: growth happens when you’re willing to look silly, make mistakes, and keep going anyway.

You know what’s more cringe than being cringe? Letting fear stop you from doing the thing you love.

One of the most common things I hear from new improvisers is, “I felt so awkward up there.”

The truth is that awkwardness, uncertainty, and even a little embarrassment are part of the process. Every performer you’ve ever admired has had moments they’d rather forget. What helped them grow wasn’t avoiding those moments, it was continuing through them.

The next time you feel cringe while performing, creating content, speaking in public, or trying something new, remember: you’re not failing. You’re learning.
