Horses fractured into color and memory.

Dominic Besner builds each piece in layers, geometric fields, gold leaf, line work laid over line work until the animal form emerges from the noise. What starts as abstraction resolves into something recognizable, then dissolves again the longer you look.

Thousands of forgotten toys, given a second life.

Valerie Carmet builds her ToyBox Collection from what other people throw away, childhood objects nobody wanted anymore. She reassembles them into dense, layered tableaus that look playful from a distance and turn provocative up close.

Beneath the surface, each piece carries weight. Overconsumption. Gender. War. Mental health. The innocence of childhood used as a lens for subjects that are anything but innocent.

Carmet trained as a mosaicist before turning to assemblage, and that discipline shows in the density of every composition. Nothing is random. Every figure has been placed.

Tremblay doesn’t paint from reference. Each piece begins as an intuitive sketch, forms that emerge from somewhere between waking life and dream. The closed eyes are a constant in her work: a gesture inward, toward the interior worlds she calls her true subject.
