In "And so with ends comes beginnings," Antonia Wright reflects on that question through a deeply personal lens. Filmed while nine months pregnant, the video was inspired by flooding along the Miami River and the artist's concerns about sea-level rise, climate change and the future her daughter would inherit.

Through layered imagery, Wright juxtaposes her pregnant silhouette with rising water levels and scenes of urban development, creating a powerful meditation on environmental change, growth and responsibility.

Originally presented as part of the South Florida Cultural Consortium exhibition presented by NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale, "And so with ends comes beginnings" was acquired by the museum. Today, the artist's daughter is seven years old, making the work an even more poignant reflection on the challenges and possibilities that shape future generations.
"Defining Landscapes" is on view through July 26, 2026.

South Florida's rainy season has officially arrived. 🌧️🍷

Trade the traffic and afternoon storms for 2-for-1 wine at the NSU Art Museum Café, then wander through the galleries while the rain rolls through Fort Lauderdale outside.

A little rain is practically part of the season here, which makes it the perfect excuse for a slower afternoon surrounded by art.
