The free holiday event takes place on Tuesday, November 26 from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Highlights include performances by the Yuletide Carolers and Jazz Saxophonist Randy Corinthian; the illumination of more than 50,000 holiday lights in the park and along our beachfront; the return of “Olas,” our larger-than-life Beach Snowman; a holiday concert by the Fort Lauderdale Symphonic Winds, plus a kids zone with Santa, slides, inflatables, pony rides and more!

Tonight, the City Commission decided to work out an agreement with David Beckham’s Inter Miami soccer team.

We are going to work out terms for them to build a new stadium at Lockhart. It will be used by their major league team for at least two years and also by their minor league affiliate. They will offer a youth soccer academy and put their headquarters in Fort Lauderdale.

The stadium and adjacent fields will be available for the return of high school football games and other school sports. They are also building for the city a major public park with even more fields — at their expense.

It was a great day for athletics in Fort Lauderdale.

Today is the first day of a 3-month pilot program for Freebee, a free, on-demand, electric vehicle service for short trips.
