Dear FayWhat?!,

Big Fan. Thank you for being you. So, I’m a leather bear from Oakland Park, and apparently I look really intimidating. Between the beard, tattoos, leather gear, and my size, people assume I’m tough, mean, or only interested in hookups. The truth is… I’m a total softie. I’m shy, love taking care of my friends, cuddling during movies, and making people laugh. But at bars and events, people seem too nervous to approach me — while I’m standing there, too shy to make the first move myself. How do I stay true to who I am while seeming more approachable and open to genuine connection?
