Sometimes we get excited about upcoming movies, this week I'm excited about the latest special from Le Fumoir!! Look how gorgeous these wings are!

Open Mic Monday! Doors open at 6, the mic is powered up at 6:30!

I thought this one would have us super busy, but it's been slow with a few no shows. However, most people familar with the Insidious franchise, and those new to it have really enjoyed the film including ME!

It's a busy time with school starting and sports swinging into full gear, but if you've been putting this one off, this is the last weekend for it. It is PG-13 so bring the older kids and terrorize them!

Saturday 4pm and 7:30pm
Sunday 4pm and 7:30pm
Wednesday 7:30pm
Thursday 7:30pm

Proudly presented by A.H. Custom Carpentry because this one's about building something that lasts. 🪵🤖

I was nervous about this one. Did we really need another post apocalyptic movie? The answer to that was yes! This was a good one. No zombies! Just a world that has ended and people trying to hang on to what little civilization is left. Great story, great cinematography, and Margaret Qualley!! 😍

1917. That's the year a group of Fort Kent men called the Modern Woodmen of America bought an old barn and started showing moving pictures in it. They called it the Savoy. It stood right next door to where we are now.

1917 is also the year a 23-year-old from Portland, Maine named John Ford directed his first feature film.

On Saturday, September 26, we're putting them back together.

STRAIGHT SHOOTING (1917) — John Ford's first feature, starring Harry Carey. A silent western, presented the way it was meant to be seen: on a big screen, in a dark room, with a crowd.

🎟️ 7:00 pm · $4 · Fort Kent Cinema

More on the Savoy, and on Maine's greatest filmmaker, over the next few weeks.
