Dress Rehearsal and we are ready to go! Fort Dodge participating in the IHSMTA Showcase is always a highlight of our year, and we are SO excited for tonight! If you would like to watch the Livestream to follow along with tonight’s showcase, use the link below. You MUST use the internet link and not try to watch it on IPTV.

We have 2 students (Corban McHone, Lauren Patterson) in the opening medley right at the top of the show. Our full cast production performance is immediately following that opening medley. Additionally, Manuela Rodriguez and Amelia Stephan are participating in the Triple Threat medley in the 2nd half of the program.

The IHSMTA Showcase begins at 7:00 PM.

Attention FDMS Honor Choir Families: From Mrs. Ascherl - The Honor Choir will be performing at both concerts, so they'll need to be here at 5:30. Due to the strong potential for high winds, damaging hail, and severe storms during the time of the concert, we have elected to Cancel tonight's "Evening with A Ca****la" concert. Becuase tomorrow is the last day for seniors, we will not make this concert up at a later date.

📣 Information regarding the upcoming middle school choir concert on May 19. Note the parking and timing requests in order to alleviate parking and seating issues. Early arrivals to 7th/8th should also remember that there is a concert happening in the auditorium at 6pm so they must keep the lobby noise and disruptions down to a minimum until its conclusion. Thank you!😊

We are “Over the Moon” to announce that our recent production of “The Addams Family” has received some prestigious awards from the Iowa High School Musical Theatre Awards program, and will participate in the IHSMTA Showcase sponsored by EMC Insurance Companies.
Produced by Des Moines Performing Arts as the culmination of a year-long education initiative, the showcase will be held at the Des Moines Civic Center on Thursday, May 28, recognizing a total of 110 adjudicated high school productions from across the state.

“Outstanding Musical Production” takes into account all performance, creative, and technical elements of a show and is the highest level of achievement for productions to be awarded. Our production was one of only
15 from across the entire state to receive this distinction, and our cast has been invited to perform an excerpt from our production as part the IHSMTA Showcase!

We could not be more proud of everyone involved with this production. Cast, crew, pit, student and parent volunteers, and administration ALL play a vital role in the success of a musical production and this one was truly incredible! To be able to honor the rich tradition of excellence in musical theatre in our community and to showcase the current students is something that Mrs. Krug and I take very seriously and we are so proud to be a part of such an incredible program!

Tickets to the Showcase, which start at $15, will go on sale on Friday, May 15, 2026 at 10 AM at DMPA.org, the Des Moines Civic Center Ticket Office, and by phone at 515-246-2300. The Awards Showcase will be live-streamed at lowaPBS.org as part of a collaboration with lowa PBS. Iowa PBS will also broadcast a highlights special of the event later this summer on dates to be announced.
