Completed Sand Hill Cranes panel. The panel is adapted to hang or be displayed in a solid cold rolled steel stand made by a local fabricator. Attached are a few photos taken in different light and close ups to show angled feathers and overlaid dragonfly.

All pieces have been wrapped with copper foil. Next, internal steel reinforcement will be laid between seams, then be tack soldered into seams to add strength before the entire panel is soldered. General rule of thumb is to reinforce a panel over 3sf. This is to avoid bowing or cracking over time due to gravity and the nature of solder which is a soft metal.

Finished cutting, grinding, cleaning, numbering the somewhere around 275 pieces. These steps took close to 35 hours with an additional 15-20 hrs creating design and making templates and jig. A lot is involved including picking the glass and using the right part of a sheet of glass for certain areas of the design. For example, different shading for crane feathers. Next step is to wrap each piece with copper foil.

Added the meadow, made a few subtle changes to the water and started on the mountains. Working on a couple other projects as well so may not be back to this for a bit. Stay tuned.
