The Movement Apothecary

I am circling back to teaching a yoga class. I am so looking forward to it. Just a time to practice in community, settling into our own rhythm and flow and and moving through the parts of our body that have clenched up and forgot how to trust.

My roots are in Yoga. I started my teaching journey as a yoga teacher and taught full-time for 15 years. It’s pretty wild. I even started offering yoga teacher trainings after I realized I had over like 10,000 teaching hours or something….but over the years my practice integrated with Pilates, when I learned that I was hypermobile and needed more centering and stability and then somatic work came natural. Working with people in their bodies. Working with myself those many hours, in my body. That was my language through all of these tools. Really I think the somatic language just helped me realize that I wasn’t crazy and that I deserve to make some time and space for myself as a human existing in relationship to the outside world.

so anyway I bring all of these influence into all of my teachings really, but yoga is such a framework of movement that just feels like home
