Found this yesterday, in pile of sketches that I have, I am going to get a frame for it. It is a Classic fly..."Sol Duc Spey" by Syd Glasso, made famous on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State in the late 1950s.

On September 1st, I was fortunate to walk outside and see this on one of my trees, took a quick photo and just recently painted it. The Pileated Woodpecker they get anywhere from 16" to 19"..a descent sized bird. I believe the Woody Woodpecker cartoon is based off this bird. Now back to the commission piece that I need to finish.
